Just a quick, fun bit of trivia - Anjelica Huston owns the VC&A pearl and diamond bracelet now (Sinatra had originally given it to Ava; Jack Nicholson bought it at auction for Anjelica as a Christmas present).VC&A jewelry owned by the stunning Ava Gardner - her collection comprised mostly VC&A, according to Sotheby's London.
“I have something to tell you,” Huston recalls Nicholson announcing in her new memoir Watch Me, published in part by Vanity Fair. “Someone is gonna have a baby.” That someone was model/actress Rebecca Broussard, and Nicholson told Huston he was going to stand by the pregnancy, but he also didn’t want anything to change. Huston's response: “There’s only room for one of us women in this picture, and I am going to retire from it.” That Christmas, Nicholson sent her an apology of sorts, in the form of "an extraordinary pearl-and-diamond bracelet that Frank Sinatra had once given to Ava Gardner." His note: “These pearls from your swine. With happiest wishes for the holidays—Enjoy—Yr Jack.”
