What is the difference between tongue and/of throat cancer?

Uh...there are pretty major differences and both are serious. What a strange comment to make.

Idk much about his condition when he was ill or now, but various forms of cancer can be very difficult to detect and they can also spread/grow quickly so while a U.S. doc didn't catch it it doesn't mean the tumor wasn't there but much smaller/less noticeable. Idk what type of things they did to attempt to diagnose him in the States but I don't find it suspect that a diff doctor ultimately made the call. That happens to people all of the time.

I do not understand the need to fib.
That is all.
Why go on and on lying?
There is no shame in being ill, imo.

I think he said because the doctor/doctors advised him that tongue cancer treatment is far more invasive and would send tongues wagging but he didn't want to deny it altogether because he was promoting WSNS.

That seems plausible imo and considering the media it prob prevented 'Michael Douglas Dying As You Read This' headlines from cropping up.

I do not agree at all.
He was pronounced dead anyways....by the national enquirer and the likes....
Who knows what is actually true?
Why even discuss the cancer at all?

He had to discuss the cancer, look at him, lol! He looks like a skeleton now, it really aged him. People would've talked, it was good to announce it IMO.

'I'm very hopeful': Michael Douglas reveals relationship with estranged wife Catherine Zeta-Jones is on 'the up and up' during Jay Leno appearance

His wife Catherine Zeta-Jones was seen wearing her wedding ring last week after the pair separated in August.

And now Michael Douglas has hinted that they may be giving their marriage another try.

The 69-year-old said he was 'very hopeful' that his relationship with the 44-year-old Welsh actress was 'on the up and up' during an interview with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show on Monday.

Giving it another go? The actor said that just because 'people take a little bit of a break... it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end,' referring to his marriage with Catherine, pictured together in NYC in April

When the talk show host asked Michael how things were going with Catherine, the Oscar winner replied:

'Good I hope. I've been away for a while but everything should hopefully be on the up and up,' he said.

A representative for the pair - who have been married 13 years - told MailOnline in August that Catherine and Michael were taking time apart to 'evaluate and work on their marriage.'
Michael said during the interview that their separation doesn't signal that things that over for good.

'Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end. I'm very hopeful,' he said.
Michael also touched on his two children with Catherine - Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10, claiming they 'are doing great' despite the split.

He revealed Dylan - who has special needs - wants to become an actor, and tries to use his academic achievements (which include class presidency and making the honour roll) as a 'negotiating' tactic to quit school to pursue his dream.

'I think it's great [he wants to be in the profession],' said Michael. 'But I'm a little worried about this no school thing.'

The actor - who nearly took a tumble while walking onstage - was promoting his new film Last Vegas, costarring Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline.

Michael appeared to be in a buoyant mood during the interview, and candidly answered questions regarding recent revelations that he had in fact suffered from tongue cancer, and not throat cancer, as he had previously claimed in 2010.

He repeated what he revealed last week, that he lied at his doctor's recommendation to preserve his career.

Not pretty: 'Surgery with a tumour in your tongue, it doesn't look too good,' said the star, referring to possibility that he would have had to have part of his tongue or jaw removed

'Surgery with a tumour in your tongue, it doesn't look too good,' said the star, referring to possibility that surgery would remove part of his tongue or jaw.

Luckily, Michael has finally received the all-clear that he is now cancer-free.

'I made a full recovery,' he said to applause from the audience. 'I'm clean three years now.'

'We are doing great:' Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are 'back together' after six months of separation

The news comes after Douglas' Friday appearance on Live With Kelly & Michael, where he revealed the night before he was Trick-Or-Treating for Halloween with Catherine and their children in Westchester County, New York, near their family home.
'My son Dylan was a Hobbit, my daughter Carys was a kind of flapper, and Catherine was Snow White,' he told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
'I was late, I grabbed a mask at the store, it said Mike Meyers on it, and I said, "I don't remember this character that Mike Myers did," Then I walked around and everyone said it was Michael Meyers who killed everyone [in the Halloween slasher movies].'

It was one year ago that Michael Douglas started spending time apart from his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The 69-year-old acting vet and his 44-year-old Oscar-winning spouse got back together by Halloween and have looked happy together ever since. On Wednesday the Basic Instinct star shared valuable lessons from the break. 'You can never take your marriage for granted,' the Emmy winner - who is promoting his new film And So It Goes with Diane Keaton - told People.
That same day the couple of 14 years - along with 13-year-old son Dylan and 11-year-old daughter Carys - put on a united front as they landed in Barcelona, Spain for their summer vacation.

The family was already dressed for their European break as they were all spotted wearing summer hats and sunglasses while exiting the airport.

The clan is most likely headed to Majorca where they have a house.
Catherine looked chic as always in a black top and skirt paired with a Panama hat. On her arm was an ivory Hermes purse worth over $15,000 and for shoes she had on black and beige Espadrille heels. Her spouse wore a sports jacket over a white shirt and belted slacks.

Here to stay: The Behind The Candelabra star told People on Wednesday to never take marriage for granted; he and Catherine got back together in November 2013 after roughly five months apart
The son of Kirk Douglas has been healthy ever since fighting tongue cancer in 2010

Daughter Carys has inherited her mother's knack for style as she paired a white Bohemian top over grey-and-white leggings with a straw hat and red-framed sunglasses.
Dylan looked smart in a grey top with matching shorts and a baseball hat that said SUPRA on the front.

Both children had on backpacks.

Step on it please: Douglas talked to an airport helper while sitting in the back of an SUV as Catherine looked on

Several attendants surrounded the power couple as they walked out to a waiting SUV.
Onlookers seemed star struck by the family that cut an impressive figure as they made their way to the sidewalk. Once in their chauffeured vehicle the stars showed signs of travel strain as they failed to crack a smile.

It's hard to believe a year ago this time the two were living separate lives.

She's a priority again: Michael looked proud to be holding his wife's hand at the AFI honors for Jane Fonda in LA in early June

Wedding day: They tied the knot in 2000

The son of fifties movie icon Kirk Douglas - who looked very in love with Catherine at the 42nd AFI Awards for Jane Fonda in LA two weeks ago - added, 'It goes to the idea of where you spend your energy and attention: Do you spend it with strangers, trying to show everybody how nice you are?'
He added, 'Or do you cherish your partner and really don't worry about other people?'
Douglas, who started out on the TV series The Streets Of San Francisco and went on to star in such hits as Romancing The Stone, credits his age for making him wiser.

'When you've accomplished a certain amount in your career, you're not so focused on your ambitions,' he said.

He continued, 'It makes you appreciate – and hopefully you do that sooner rather than later – the value of your partner.'

The Streets Of San Francisco star said a partner is like an orchid and if you don't take care of it, it will wilt

The Behind The Candelabra actor added, 'Like a lovely orchid, or anything else that's nurtured, marriage prospers and grows, but if it's ignored, it withers.'
His children with his Chicago actress wife also are a major priority.
'I'm more and more prone to tell kids just about everything,' he said.

Stronger than ever: The Oscar winners, here staring lovingly at each other, have two children together

'There's been a whole school of thought about things you should not tell children – if there's a problem in a relationship, [people say], "Let's not let the kids know." Kids know. They know everything. I would err on the side of pretty much sharing everything. They can digest it, you know? It's life,' he revealed.

Last week he talked to The Sun on Sunday about his 2013 breakup with Catherine.
‘First you have to admit that you made a mistake, then dealing with it is easy,' he said.

He added: ‘Of Course it’s important to make mistakes, as long as you grow from them.'

He has accomplished so much: The movie producer and actor has said he will now focus on family and not try to show everyone how great he is

He admitted: ‘When you’re older you focus that energy on the people closest to you, on your family.’

Michael and Catherine are readjusting back to family life as Michael revealed that he got a little bit too excited and injured himself at his son Dylan's bar mitzvah last month.

After he was seen limping at the Monkey Bar in New York, Michael revealed: 'I’m hurting. I don’t know whether it’s my groin or a hernia.'

'I got carried away at my son’s bar mitzvah this weekend. You know they put you up in the chairs over the top — I think something happened there.'

They made it through the storm: The couple of 14 years in April at the opening night of The Library at the Public Theater in NYC

Whenever I see CZJ in photo's or on one of the late night talk shows, all I can think of is how she lies about her age. There is NO way she is 44, she cut 8 - 10 years off her age.
