My normal routine is to apply perfumed body oil after showering & then lightly spray perfume, and it lasts throughout the day or night. I guess it's possible my watch touched a part of my skin that had just been sprayed. I never spray perfume after my jewelery is on.:shrugs: Believe me if they can remove the brown/tarnish mark off the gold on my watch, I will be one happy camper!

I'm just really sorry I asked them to polish it to begin with. Thank you for the information, I greatly appreciate it.

No worries,I have seen really bad cases of this on things, necklaces being the most typically and worst affected,to the extent it goes almost chocolate brown with navy blue tinges!!! And its all been polished out succesfully,so I have good expectations for your watch, and Cartiers aftercare is great. As it has happened within your possesion,it may be a case of that you will have to pay for it,but sometimes they do these things as a gesture of goodwill at no charge.
But ultimately,it can be sorted out,and thats the main thing. xx
