This is my 20 year wedding anniversary gift.

We are looking to buy preloved on chrono24 or similar.

I am on the taller side (5’10”) and felt the rectangular shape of the tank style might be a better fit? Waiting to come out of lockdown so I can try some on.

for my first and only luxury watch whatone would you go for? What is more classic and timeless?

Leaning towards one of the tanks I can see the francaise is more expensive at Cartier but both are similar on the preloved sites possibly as the solo has been discontinued?

quick pic of me with my friends small tank on my wrist in case anyone wants to weigh in

I am liking the tanks more and more after first hating them. However, the solo still looks a bit lost to me. There seems to be nothing which catches the eye; hard to explain. The française is a bit more special than the panthère I would think. With the latter you just cannot go wrong, with the TF it might be a perfect fit or not.

I have the tank solo and I absolutely love it, I’ve had it for a couple of years now and it goes with everything. I chose between the tank francaise and the tank solo and I liked the look of the solo better on my arm.
A watch is such a personal piece so I really advice you to go to a Cartier store and try them on and see what makes your heart the happiest.

I was also trying to decide between the tank solo and francaise. Ended up going with francaise because I loved how it fit and wrapped around my wrist. The tank solo kind of floats(?) and creates a gap, which was something I didn't like. Others don't mind that. One small thing that made me hesitate about the francaise initially was that it had a creamy? slightly yellow colored face (is that the right name for the part with the numbers?). I hope you end up trying them on in person--definitely makes a difference and changed my mind from solo to francaise :-)

thank you I think I definitely need to try them on so I will keep saving options on Chrono24 and hope lockdown ends before my anniversary in November.

I wonder what people think of the tank with aftermarket diamonds. I can’t tell if I love it orhate it. Part of me thinks it takes away from the crisp elegance of the watchB2C46737-CA50-4DE6-8524-E46AD4C5A4A0.jpeg

Ok so made it to a boutique. I tried on the Must the Francaise and the Panthere. Would love opinions I am leaning to the must I like the rectangular shape. I do like the Panthere as well however it could be because the one they had in the medium size had diamonds which I cannot afford.

Would love some thoughts
