I have both sizes...crazy I know...:shame:
I would say that the smaller size is more feminine and elegant looking on my small wrist (15 cm). I am 5'6''. It´s perfect for me...the midsize is more casual and I feel it´s more "wide" if you know what I mean, the small is just "slimmer" - if that makes any sense?!
So on a daily basis I wear the midsize and for evenings or when I dress up it´s the small one. Also my midsize is an old model which does not have the date.
Here are some comparison pictures, I hope that will help you with your decision. Feel free to ask if you want to have additional info!
Are these Cartier watches used? I'm really liking the two-tone one.Oh and here are pics from a Wempe boutique. Large, midsize and small model in one pic
I was window shopping for the new version with diamond markers...
Sorry for the bad pics...but I hope you get an idea of the sizes...

Thank you
Thank you for posting and the insight. I'm to heard that the watch is comfortable and trouble free. I would like a large watch because I like large watches and I saw this review on YouTube. I thought that she did a really good review.I've had my tank for 8 years and I still love it! Mine is the small and when I got it, I don't think big watches were the rage and I loved the small on my wrist at the time. Maybe if I bought a new one now I'd get the medium, not the small has such a simple, classic, timeless look. I also love it in the larger sizes but don't think this watch looks good "oversized." Also, having just purchased a Rolex, I have to say the tank is SO comfortable!!
Good luck!

I'll check out the medium with the date. But I'm thinking that the Large with the date is the one that I want.I have the medium with the date and I wear it every day. I am 5'4" and I feel it is a good size for me as I have a smaller Hermes watch and also a smaller Ebel watch.
Thanks Bitten. I'll be sure to try on both sizes. It really depends on what your style is, what you already have and what you want this particular watch to be. Do you have dressier watches already and are you looking for something sporty or more casual? Are you looking for the watch that tells the professional world your taste is immaculate?
As always, trying on both sizes in store to compare with be your best bet. And it doesn't surprise me at all that people have the same watch in different sizes![]()

I'm 5"2 and have the small two-tone. I use it as my everyday watch at work - with crisp tailored separates, it is the absolute businessWhen I go running or want to wear something a bit sportier/trendier, I have a black Tag Formula One. I have a SS small Aquaracer with pink MOP dial and diamond markers when I wear blush/pink tones.
Personally, I couldn't speak more highly of the Tank Francais. It's breathtakingly classic, the design just looks good all the time, in every possible setting.
