I can't remember off the top of my head the exact details, but apparently when you special order the rainbow, now it is a slightly different combination of stones. I cannot recall if they are all sapphires now, or if there is still another stone in the mix. I believe they tried to eliminate the softer stones that were previously in the rainbow. I asked for a special order of another bracelet with purple amethyst, which used to be in the rainbow, and it was declined, however various colors of sapphires were approved.
Ah that's interesting info. Thanks for sharing. When I 1st came to know about the Rainbow I was set on PG but when I found out WG n PG had different sets of gemstones and compared these on Mohs scale in terms of gemstones hardness, I decided to go for the WG instead.
So my hunt continues....

I did not know one can special order it. Is the RG 4 pink sapphire also SO?

Reviving this thread as I am sooo close to getting my Unicorn of Rainbow WG. For those who have this in WG, may I know if the white gold turns into metal steel greyish color? Or is this rhodium plated same as the diamonds version in WG?
Which means needs to be rhodium plate whenever. Thanks & looking forward for your input.

Me again, pls help... so the rainbow white gold 17 I found is 2011, comes complete set box, screwdriver & certificate for USD 8,400. I don't mind the price based on research but the age 2011 so the bracelet is 12yrs old, thoughts pls?

Well it was rare to find from the boutique, esp in WG in recent years, so not likely to find one from the past 5 years etc. Anyone who did buy very recently had to wait for it and search for it, so not likely to part with it. I hope that helps your decision!

Thank you so much, I'm just effy about the age although the video n pictures of WG sent to me via fb messenger it looks brand new. I found another seller for rose gold newer 2020 on cert for 7,700 so I need to decide. Appreciate your help

I'd go for the RG version. Mainly because it's a lot newer, and it's a lot cheaper. RG is beautiful with the rainbow style. Unless your heart was set on the WG version?
