Cartier price increase dilemma - Keep Chanel or return for Love/JUC Bracelet?

jewelry trumps bags for me majority of the time (only exception is H), in your case, if your open to lambskin, there is the rec classic mini flap available (which I love and lambskin feels luxurious to me), I'm not a fan of coco handle and it doesn't seem to me your feeling it either. I would pick the love, or if you decide on the thin juc and can swing a little more (that is if your open to mini lamb) you can get both?!

I don’t think I can do lambskin, it’s beautiful but I’m way too rough with my bags!! I’ve been staring at my coco sitting on the counter all day and it looks so cute :wtf: The fit is just so awkward. I think I’m going to keep it and then also get the love.

I’d return the bag and go with the love bracelet. I’m not personally a fan of the small JUC.

You may want to check on the refund policy at Chanel. I think they only offer an exchange or store credit, but not entirely sure. If that may impact your decision, you should find out.

Such a hard choice! Have you thought about exchanging the bag for one of the new mini rectangles with the top handle? I’ve seen black, white, beige, and pink in gorgeous caviar! Some are matte and others irediscent. But if you don’t like/can’t find this bag, I like the JUC bracelet on you! I prefer it to the Love since I can take it off by myself nightly. Best of luck!

Definitely return the bag and go for the Cartier. Choosing between the love and JUC has to do with your personal style I think, the love is classic and I think the small JUC by itself needs a little something else but that can always be done further down the line haha

Yes! I like those too but I heard from someone that Chanel doesn’t make them anymore. Now I just searched after seeing your message and see them on the Chanel site still. I’m going to ask my SA tomorrow!

Yes, I know they are a more recent release. Although I did hear they would only be making Lambskin for any new colors in the mini rectangle top handle, but can’t confirm this 100%!

I would personally return it and go for a Cartier piece especially considering the impending price increase. Cartier is classic and timeless, and these pieces last forever. Can be heirloom too (I have my daughters name and date of birth with a heart engraved in my love that I intend to pass down to her). Fine jewelry is easier for me to justify these days.

I recently purchased a more expensive Louis Vuitton bag and within six months the hardware started tarnishing. I asked myself why did you buy this bag, stick to fine jewelry instead. I ended up trying to cut my losses while I was ahead and I sold the bag preloved while it still looked good and would go fast on the market.

My thoughts: how many bags do you need? Over the years they have just accumulated in my closet collecting dust, especially this last year during the pandemic when I was staying in quarantine and didn’t go out much while for fine jewelry I wear it for myself and enjoy it. This is even more so the case when you don’t LOVE it, and you just don’t find yourself gravitating toward it. Go with your gut, if you don’t LOVE it now when it’s new and fresh, you probably won’t love it in a year from now.

Just my two cents though, do what makes sense for you and what you’ll enjoy most! This is the whole point of luxury. You have to enjoy it, otherwise don’t spend that kind of money.
