I don't think you can "ruin" gold.
It will become scuffed and look "worn" w/ time, but I don't think it's ruining it in any way. Rings develop scuffs over time as well as, patina. Are they ruined? No...they have "history". Same could be said about your Cartier bracelet. The more scratches it has, the more love it's received!
To keep it looking new would be not to wear it, but admire it in the box, & what's the point of that?
The bracelets are very different from one another. I don't think it's fair to compare, or call "Pandora" cheap .......especially since some of the gold beads can run up to the $700 range. Fill a bracelet with those & you're well over the price of a plain gold Love Bracelet, kwim?
Both are beautiful and both have their own "charm". I think if you're greatest worry is scuffing the bracelet, you really have nothing to worry about.
