I would actually love to know if the Clash hoops make audible noise due to their intricate pieces moving. I can hear my Clash ring if I shake my hand, so I’m curious about the earring experience. Anyone have thoughts?

I am also generally not tempted by necklaces or earrings at Cartier except for these small hoops.
I have them, they don’t make noise at all! the only time I notice them is when im fumbling with my mask and bump them hehe. Bracelet and rings yes a whole (stunning) rattlesnake

I agree, they only make noise if you purposely run your finger along the spikes on the edge of the hoop. Otherwise, I don’t notice any noise when moving around or turning my head.

Anything Clash. I find it uninspiring and boring. It has yet to grow on me.

Any necklaces. I’m not a necklace person in general though.

Anything pave. I’m already self-conscious wearing the diamonds Love/JUC bracelets and don’t like more bling/attention.

Any watch. Prefer a FitBit or the like for a multi-purpose option.

Interesting thread! I love Cartier bracelets but I will never consider purchasing “doubles” (or more). What I mean is, I will never buy a second Love bracelet, or another JUC bracelet. I have my one and only from each collection, so don’t feel the need to add more, whether it’s in a different size, color, style, diamonds vs. no diamonds, etc.

I hope this fits the thread!

I agree. I have one classic love. I’m one and done. I personally do not like the look of multiples stacked. I’ve seen some women with 8 love bracelets on one hand and this may be an unpopular opinion but I think it looks cheap and overdone. Less is more and fine jewelry is no exception.

White and rose gold don’t compliment my skin tone. I’m yellow gold all the way. I can’t justify such an expensive purchase if it doesn’t really compliment me, but I admire these pieces on other people.

I also think that the diamonds in most of the popular Cartier collections are not eye catching and not worth the premium. They’re also the pieces that devalue the most on the secondhand market, the solid gold pieces seem to do much better. If you’re interested in diamond jewelry I think you could do a lot better with a local and trusted jeweler.

I’m such an oddball, the JUC is wildly popular but it doesn’t appeal to me for some reason. My next purchase will be the Ecrou, which is a polarizing piece and doesn’t get much love. It’s not really my style, and it’s not like anything else I own, but maybe that’s why I like it. It’s something different that you don’t see very often IRL. It has grown on me quite a bit and IMO doesn’t look nearly as “industrial” as I thought it would.

I know the Love series is very popular with many, but I don't find it appealing on me, and I see it much too often, although I do admire it on others. I also think that yellow gold looks best on me, so will stick with that. WG doesn't have the appeal, and the RG would only work if, as in the Clash, it's somewhat of a "bridge" color that won't be starkly different from the YG I usually wear. The diamonds while I think are gorgeous, I know I can do MUCH much better from a diamond dealer that doesn't have the retail or designer markup.

Thank you! The rattle is one of the things I love about Clash. I am considering earrings for matching purposes, but a constant rattle in the ears would probably be annoying, so this is great to know! When Clash was first released, I didn’t find the collection compelling from photos alone and I thought I would have no interest in purchasing. I was surprised that in person the movement gives these pieces dimension in the light...but what captured my heart was that they forge a more interactive relationship in rattling to reminding me of their presence and inviting me to fidget with their spikes. It’s almost like having a weird spiky shiny pet (I know I’m weird).

Despite its interactive nature, I haven’t found a connection with the Ecrou collection, though I enjoy seeing it on others. Not sure why!
