I think that's BS that you have to pay them a significant price to exchange for a larger size, something that should be an even exchange. Their customer service is horrendous.

Yes, I do appreciate their designs on their exclusive items. I like the panther collection-- a necklace or bracelet, and the popular ballon bleu watch, but DH does not like those. However, DH is looking to get me another diamond ring, so maybe we can save the credit for that. And, we will get a pair of the trinity ring-- we originally planned to get it for our three year anniversary.

Their reason is that size 5 has one diamond less than 5.5, so the larger one is priced about $500 more. And after the price increase, the larger one end up being $1700+ more than its original price.

It says on their website, the retail price is FROM $10,600, and I guess that's for a size 3.5 -_-

Talk about their service, the 5th ave store is kind of annoying. For the most times I stepped looking to buy stuff, SA will just ignore you... They would even make an eye contact or come up to offer help.

It's true that when shopping at Cartier it's always best to avoid the bigger stores, that's not where you get the best service unfortunately...

the only time I had good customer service was when I picked up my baby love bracelet.

buying my WG love and my baby love both times the customer service was sub par. when my dad bought my RG love he said the customer service was very good, but he also demands respect with his demeanor :D

The one diamond argument seems valud then (although I cannot imagine that one extra diamond costs 500 dollar extra!!!) But it's only recently that you bought the ring! And since you bought the ring before the price increase, that price should be valid. And perhaps they should have informed you beter on sizing and this wouldn't have happened..
It's a shame!!!

Yknow, Id return this and get maybe a nice watch, and if any leftover funds something else in your size. You can get a nice eternity band elsewhere IN YOUR SIZE with far less drama and far less insane markup! ONE additional diamond should not entail a $1700+ change, esp not within 30 days of purchase, price increases or not.

You are right. One diamond does not worth that much money... The ring (for size 3.5) was retail $9050 before price increase and now it is $10600 listed on the web.

Then return and get something that makes u happy. Having never shopped at cartier,I didn't realize it was exchange only. I would have assumed 30 days return or exchange like tiffany.

Get a diamond love bracelet or a Juste un Clou! I can't tell you how much I adore my panther, too. I know he might not love it but maybe you can convince him of how much YOU do. :)

My experience is that they give better service when I go with my DH. :p
