I have a Cartier BB automatic that did the same. Sent it back to Cartier and was told it was magnetization, which they fixed. It happened again and I don't work near a computer, don't fly with my watch, so I have no idea how that even happened. My Omega automatic also did the same thing, sent back for repairs once and did it again. I have given up on automatic watches. My B&M quartz one is more reliable at telling time but it requires expensive batteries (special edition and needs to be sent back to B&M for battery changes) every 2 years and "full servicing" every 5 years.
My take is that these expensive watches are beautiful jewellery pieces but are just crap at what watches are actually supposed to do - telling time effortlessly and without much on the owner's part. My $100 Citizen eco-drive I've had for 10 years has so far required no work and very accurate. It's also water proof and can be worn while swimming.
