Thanks for taking the time to detail and photograph the process. It's very helpful.

Over on the LV thread a woman recently did a similar documentation w/ photos of how she cleaned and restored some less than optimal vachetta handles on a Watercolor Speedy she'd acquired with stunning results.

With this kind of prepping I'm sure you'll avoid the hassle of cleaning soiled vachetta.

Your bag is beautiful. Thanks for the valuable information.

You're welcome everyone! I'm glad to be of help. Vachetta really isn't as scary as it's worked up to be. I've had a few LV's with vachetta and all have aged beautifully. The scary black handles that you see are on bags of people who really don't care about the leather.

I do have a question, how important do you think it is to also use the conditioner on her. I haven't done this step. I am still deciding if I want the shine or to leave it on the matte side. I will not use her for another couple of weeks, maybe even a month as I am still snow and salt covered so I have time on my side.

coachdon, at the beginning I don't think it's completely necessary. I like using conditioner on brand new bags because I feel it makes the leather more supple and resistant to scratches. I think as the bag ages it becomes more and more important, especially if the bag is used a lot.

Love the bag so pretty! Very lovely color. Where do you get your tops?

Thank you! That first blue top is from Zara, and the pink lace peplum top is from Anthropologie! I buy my clothes from all sorts of places...but nowadays I prefer shopping at boutiques that carry indie brands, or UK and Australian brands.

I am not really a Borough fan, but it is gorgeous in the vachetta. Wowsers!!

I've got a vachetta Poppy Whipstitch Glam Tote coming from eBay, and I'm hoping I can use your method to treat her. She's NWT, and I hope she is as beautiful in real life as it is in the pictures the seller had of her.

My vachetta borough came while I was on my work trip this week and I finally got to open it up tonight...what a beauty! I wasn't sure if I would keep it because I'm kind of afraid to use it but I'm not sure I could part with it now that I've seen it!!

Now must order all the products in your directions and get it treated and ready to go in case spring ever comes! Thanks again for the great instructions! :)
