I really want a LV Capucines BB but they're certainly not cheap! I'm concerned about the bags appearance on the pre-loved sites. They don't appear to hold their shape. I notice, also, that the rings tend to splay out and not stand straight up. I once read that LV has added a frame to the bag to address the wear and tear issues, but I've never been able to confirm this. I've asked in store but the SA didn't acknowledge that LV had ever been aware of such issues or done anything to address them.

Does anyone have more information? How are your Capucines bags holding up that have been purchased in the last year or so direct from LV?

Thank you!

The ones almost 10 years ago were the "natural" ones, that aged like the Taurillon Birkins and did lose their shape easily. It was already a few years ago when they discontinued the original GM size (that was the most prone to losing the shape), they put some serious reinforcement into the body, and also the small sizes were pushed, those hold their shape more easily.
I just checked the listings on FP... wow, you are right, the rings are all over the place. It is easy to tell by the shape, which bag is older, which ones are newer, but even the new ones can't hold the rings. They look especially ridiculous on the Minis.
I hope forum members can share their experience, because these did not look pleasing for 5k+ pieces...

@THeartsBags I don’t own a BB size but my mini hasn’t had any issues thus far. Mine was even manhandled by a rough customs officer without any deformities formed. You might want to consult the folks over in the clubhouse. You might find some seasoned BB owners over there with personal experiences that follow that thread for a more prompt response. (Not everyone notices these new threads)

Any links to share of the conditions?
Here's one example, but quite a few have displaced rings:

That's great! Thanks for the tip!

So sorry your bag got manhandled. The airport is a stressful place for bags! Glad to hear it came through ok.

Also be really careful if you’re using the strap - this is mm - the inside clips can gouge marks in the leather. I’ve heard this a known design issue which is why some new capucines have the clips on the outside of the bag.

I pay attention that the opening of the "carabiner" is directed inwards of the bag. This way I avoid rubbing against the leather. Maybe this helps a little.

Oh no! I literally gasped seeing this!

TFS and please keep us updated if you take it into LV.

Hi,

So I have an older Capucines with the strap attached internally and my problem is a little bit different. I always like to keep my shoulder straps readily available without any fiddling, leaving them more or less permanently attached and just left hanging from the bag. In most cases this works really well, but that, too, is a little bit awkward with the Capucines. Due to the snap hooks, the strap doesn’t hang naturally when I’m carrying the bag in the crook of my arm, and I am worried the hooks will mess the edges up if I keep doing it for much longer. Any ideas?
