Can’t decide - tweed mini or white mini?!

Just happened to walk past a Chanel store and there was no queue so decided to pop in and see what was left. I expected slim pickings as it was an hour to closing but lo and behold! The store had 2 really cute minis!

Here’s the problem. One is a tweed (seasonal mini square) and one is white (mini reissue)! I’m worried about how tweeds will wear over time - will they fuzz badly? Will they pill badly? And I’m worried that the white will yellow over time and of course, I worry about stains and colour transfer.

If either was a dark coloured leather, the choice would have been clear! (Eg: black, grey, red, navy…)

So, calling on the experts here to share their honest opinions! Which one should I get?!

I don’t own any Chanel tweeds as they don’t suit my lifestyle
I have a toddler so stains are a potential issue for me
Tweeds also notoriously pill over time
The seasonal style is not as classic and I don’t like the shape

The reissue is stunning and calf is not as delicate as lamb
I think with some care you can avoid colour transfer
It will go with everything and if you get bored of it then it will be easier to sell later on
It also suits you more in my opinion

Alternatively if you are not sure then pass and wait for what you truly want!

The tweed is lovely, but your concern about pilling is real. Having had a Chanel White Reissue, I'm with Grande Latte on this. In addition to color transfer possibilities, in my experience Chanel's white does discolor. As ccbaggirl89 suggests, wait for something darker.

I agree with the others. White reissue looks stunning and suits you really well, but as someone who experienced discoloration on my white goatskin 19 I advise against it.

If you worried about color transfers then wait for a darker color. But I added this reissue mini recently, it’s the perfect white for me, heavenly milk color. I love mine so it’s a personal choice.

Thank you all so much for chiming in! It was interesting to see so much love for the white reissue! I told my SA I couldn't decide that night and needed to sleep on it for one night before deciding. When I woke up in the morning, I knew I wanted the white!!! The white is really so FRESH and LIGHT. And it's not a toothpaste white, it's more like an ivory white. And to me, Chanel did right to match it with a matte aged gold hardware. Probably wouldn't have gotten it if it was shiny gold hardware or ruthenium hardware.

You are absolutely right! This is a seasonal square so it was slightly taller than the regular mini square. And thanks for the assurance. Again, you're right. I think I should be ok if I look after it carefully. And I think I have to mentally accept that all bags WILL get dirty! Gotta switch to zen mode when I carry this bag... and awww, thanks for sharing that it suits me!

Me too! I used to be a black-bag-all-the-way girl but I've grown to appreciate and love light coloured bags. They seem to match with everything!
