I recently sold my MK Hamilton the and that was used as my school bag. I'm on the search for a new one I'm torn between the Swagger 37 or the Metropolitan tote for my new school bag. The dimensions are almost the same and the styles are totally different. I cannot decide!! :(

Personally I like a more streamlined tote when I'm carrying a lot of stuff (like for school or work- notebook, laptop, and a whole day's worth of essentials), so I'd vote for the Metropolitan tote for school. Also looks like the straps may go over the shoulder more easily than the Swagger. If you can't decide- why not get the swagger in a smaller size for use when you don't need a huge tote for school days, and get the Metropolitan for school. ;)

I have a regular size swagger and it is heavy just with my wallet, phone, keys, and essentials in it. I can't imagine it with books and/or a laptop! I'd go with something sturdy but with less hardware. I think the metro tote is a good choice.

Agree the swagger is heavy :-) I have a newer 27 which is supposed to be lighter, and I could tell the difference carrying that bag versus my other bags. I still like it, but would not load it up.

I have the FP Metropolitan Tote and it's great for work/travel so I think it would make a good school bag. There are two "hidden" compartments on the top that are pretty cool. The pebbled leather is very durable and the shorter strap allows shoulder carry pretty easily.

I also saw some new Men's totes at the outlet last weekend. I want to say they are called Metropolitan Totes, too, but if you have a Coach Men's outlet close, you might want to check them out. They had them in Yellow, Blue, and Black Cherry. They were really nice. They were something like $259. I'm thinking hard about going to pick one up tomorrow. I couldn't decide between Yellow or Black Cherry.

I saw them! they're all big enough to carry my things and I love the pop of color. I would go with the black cherry :) I love the men's totes a lot more than the women's totes. I only really buy carryalls. If they still had the large borough, I would've made that my school bag. Have you seen the new Rip and Repair Manhattan tote? I think I might make that an option too haha

I Love the rip and repair tote! That would be a fantastic choice, imo.

I have the men's bleecker business tote in ocean and the bleecker weekender in marine. Both are from a couple of years ago. I don't know if there is anything exactly like them now.

The business tote size is better for everyday. The weekender is huge.

I'm glad you saw that new mff men's tote. I was starting to think I dreamed them up because I went to the larger outlet in my area and they didn't have them. I think you're right about the Black Cherry. The color was really nice.


I saw the Rip and Repair totes and the only requirement they don't meet is that they don't zip across the top. Since I fly to work every week and have to put my bag under the seat in front of me, I'm always concerned that my wallet or cell phone will slide out if we have a hard landing so I always buy totes that have zip closures. It looks like a very nice tote, though.

I was thinking of getting the bleecker day tote. It's kind of like a oversized fold over tote
