Can I ask Tiffany sales to find HCA<2 diamond? And how many at a time?

Your ring and hand pictures are gorgeous!!! Lucky you that you have found your ideal rock. Thanks for sharing the pictures and your experience with me!

Yes you can. A lady from this forum taught me about HCA point system and I did plug in the #s of my Tiffany diamond ring and luckily my diamond is 1.9 without specifically looking for it. We picked out my diamond without knowing the 3cs (we asked for 1 carat or a little more) and with a budget. This lady on purse forum told me through pm that she looked about more than 10 diamonds with certificates so she can make sure her Tiffany diamond is HCA 2 points or under. She bought a two carat Tiffany so I think it's harder when you go up the carat size to find the ideal one.

If you really care about it, make sure you get it the exact way you want it. I am sure your SA will try everything to make a sale and make you happy.

This is my 1.07 carat Tiffany with the specs close to what you are looking for...under different lightings. My ring size is 6 for now...gotta resize it down.

In my opinion, buying a diamond ring from Tiffany means you don't need to get nervous!
---That's comforting to hear.

Please shop your most expensive item elegantly!!!

---Good point! I perhaps think too much about how to get the biggest bang of the bucks.

I am glad to hear that!:p
I know now you are looking for around 1.5 ct. I hope your SA can find the one that you find satisfactory, in terms of HCA value, too.

We asked our Tiffany store to look for over 2 ct. in global stocks. I didn't make any specific request about the cut grade (believing all the Tiffany diamonds are ideally cut for individual stones accepted by them agaisnt strict standards). Even so, there were not many rings available for our comparision. I have seen, say about 10 rings in person. We purchsed it in London and the one we selected was from the US stock. Each Tiffany store has a special room behind the counter. They celebrated us with champagne! (But, you will not be with your wife?)

The Brand's value propositions include that kind of "intangible experience,"including which some people are not interested in, but we value it because the ring is for anniversary.

Enjoy your purchase, comfortably!;)

Here is my ring! Not D or E, even F color. Not VVS., but it sparkles like a lazer weapon! (it's 3 EX!)

UH-OH,

It's "intangible assets" not "experience."
I am not a native English speaker after all...
Please have mercy on my English!

Lovely pictures and 2 carat is the perfect size!!! I am hoping in 4 years, we'll be able to upgrade my 1.07 carat to 1.75. We were only able to afford 1.07 when he first started working for a few months last summer.

Oh My Goodness! My heart missed a beat looking at your pictures!!! Seriously, it is just gorgeous.

it sparkles like a lazer weapon!
--This is exactly what I want to achieve. Nobody can tell color or clarity, but fire and sparkle is what tells diamond apart!!!

Seriously, I also think 2-carat is the perfect size!!!

I understand what you say...
Actually, this is NOT my first e-ring.
I used to have a 1.31 solitaire (not from Tiffany).

This time, I asked the Tiffany store to allow me view a collection of
around 2 carats, which included 1.7 of a lot better grade, which was
outstanding!!! But, I went for a larger diamond with lower grade.:p

No exaggeration.
It sometimes looks as if it is something extraterrestrial!
It glitters with ethereal beauty.
DH, who used to be not so interested in diamonds, is now really
impressed with my Tiffany solitaire!

As far as it is a Tiffany diamond, lazer beam is a promise.;)
You can go to G, H and VS2 as my ring proves.
If its 3EX, SI will be no problem.

Btw, HCA evaluation of my diamond is 1.7.
(and my ring size is 6.)

wow looks much bigger than 2 ct, beautiful!

no wonder! It does look a lot bigger than a 2ct

It's amazing. And like you said I'm going for G/H, VS2. Apparently there are not many rings in this combination. maybe they make more higher grade ones for more $$$. I called the 800 number and they can only find 2 rings in my range in their inventory. I've asked my SP to request them for me to view.

And luckily, one of the two returns a HCA score of 0.7!!! All excellent!!! How lucky I am!!!:yahoo:

Just that it has faint flourences. SP said faint will never affect appearence, nor does it decrease value. But it is just something lingering in my mind. Am I worrying too much? I finally found the one in the right size, color, clarity, within my budget, and an ideal HCA score! Should I stop thinking about the faint flouro?:confused1:

Thanks!!!

Precisely, it is 2.4 ct.;)

I don't think it's because they make more higher grade ones.
If you look for larger stone (1.5 is LARGE!) with a specific color/clarity combination,
they come up with fewer rings.

(HOWEVER, I wonder they really look for their global stock. But,
if you are in a hurry, no time for you to arrive your ring from overseas...)

Anyway, GH/VS1&2 combinaitons are most wanted because they hit best
quality/finance balance (meaning maximization of satisfaction ;))for everyone looking for larger stones.
So they might always lack availability.

About faint flourences:
I am afraid to say this, but your SP is not good enough.

There are none, faint, medium, strong, and very strong to indicatethe flourence of a diamond.
The point is they are not quality "grades" like DFGH or VVS/VS/SI.
Cubic zirconia stones have not this nature.
Flourences are somthing to prove the authenticity of natural diamonds (GIA siad so).

Of course, you had better avoid diamonds with "strong" or "very strong,"
but a diamond with "flourence" might look "bluish" than it is under specific lightning.
It means if your diamond is yellowish, flourence can cover it up!

But, you do not need to think of this "merit" if your ring is G/H color.(LOL)
Oh, my writing is too long!

Conclusion: If you found a 3EX diamond solitaire of your favoritate
coloar/clarity combination on your budget, PLEASE stop thinking!!!

YOU STILL LACK CONFIDENCE IN TIFFANY DIAMONDS!
.....IMO;););)

I personally would only get a none flourence diamond. I think you should keep looking!!!

I have Medium Blue Flour and I LOVE it. It can make the stone look whiter/cooler. I would not prefer STRONG blue but Medium to Faint I am ok with!

if you're planning to keep the ring forever or upgrade within tiffanys policy in a few years, then fluorescent won't matter. if you're planning to sell it later down the line, then i probably won't get it. i suggest you have it pulled so you can see it with your own eyes. my s.a. even allowed me to step outside into natural light to look at my ering which removed me from all those glittery store lights so i can be a better judge of my stone. if it REALLY bothers you, then i suggest you keep looking. it won't be a good thing to have this detail constantly on your mind. gl.
