Hi, I am ready for my 1st Birkin. I am currently located in Melbourne,Australia. I travel back to M'sia, S'pore, Viet 1-2 times yearly (I am not sure if there is Hermes store in Viet since my last visit with my partner). My questions are
1. where should I get my Hermes Birkin?? Do you ladies and gentlemen find it is hard/easy to get you Birkin in particular local store?
2. Price - Which local store has the reasonalble price. How much you got for your Birkin (i want a 35 BJ/orange Birkin)
3. Availability - Do you have to wait or you are lucky enought to have one on the spot
4. Waiting list - how long do you wait and does the local store contact you?
5. Recommended store - which local store would you recommended

oooo how i wish vn had a hermes..only bc my parents go back there often and so it could double the chances of me getting a birkin sooner..lolz..other than that..im waiting on melbournes store

Hi jacqualyn, i read other thread and 'heard' that you already place your order for Birkin? is the order confirm yet?

hi there..i gave suzie my details and the specs of what i wanted...but i am nowhere near the waiting list as i was told it opens next yr in feb or july :confused1: than it will be a 2 year wait from than on.

Are the Birkins in the Singapore reseller stores genuine? They looked a bit iffy to me, but I wouldn't say I'm an expert.

I am not too familiar with the Hermes reseller scene in Singapore. But there are definitely a couple who are more reputable than others.

Are the bags all authentic? Hmmm .... I have heard of a story (this is a long time ago though) where a store owner unknowingly bought a fake. It was apparently a very good fake and luckily he got his money back.

It's not that easy to get a Birkin from Singapore stores unless you are a regular. The market here is too small. It boils down to the sales quota whether a store will receive more or less Birkin. You'll have a better chance if you go to Japan. The Hermes store at Ginza sometimes has a full load of Birkin on the shelves!

Another place will be Europe. Many of the members scored their Birkins there.

There are many reputable H resellers in Singapore but I will advise you to tread carefully to ensure what you get is 100% authentic.

Many many years ago when DH was on a business trip in Singapore. He purchased a Birkin for me which the reseller swore was 100% authentic. The minute DH presented it to me, my heart sank. It was, without a doubt,a fake. It took us and Amex a long 2 months of battling it out with the seller who'd hang up if either myself of Amex called. I was lucky. I managed to get my money back. Amex was a dream to work with. The owner of the consignment store apparently pulled one trick too many and was subsequently sued in court by countless other victims. The latter part of the story was only told to me by another owner of another consignment store I happened to come across several years later.

Like ChloeSS, I bought my Birkin from the Melbourne store. It depends on what you're looking for. I'm fussy and the combination I wanted was difficult to get. Hence, the 3 year wait. Another friend of mine got hers within a year. The premium is high of course, if you compare with France or Italy.

All my Hermes bags have been from Europe, the availability is great and the prices are good too. I am just impatiently waiting for my podium orders and just wondering how authentic the bags from resellers are in Singapore and Japan. So far I have been offered quite a few Kellys from the stores here. Thanks for the tips so far ladies!

my uncle will go to Brazil for a 1 month business trip, anyone have any idea abt getting a hermes over there??

You might get better response posting this in a new thread under a different title. You can also check hermes.com to see whether the are boutiques in Brazil – I would imagine so since there are in Argentina and Chile.

Don't even bother trying Singapore or Malaysia...it's pointless. No Birkins at all! I just got back from Paris and even managed to purchase a few 30s and 35s croc Birkins, seriously it's that crazy!
