Could you post photos and stats of your beautiful Heart Diamond Rings?

I have my heart (hehe, pun not intended) on a Heart Diamond Engagement Ring, but am a complete noob when it comes to heart diamonds like which depth is better, girdle etc so was hoping you could help me out.

Also which other online sites are reputable for selling reasonably-priced loose diamonds besides Bluenile?

Thankies in advance!! ♥♥

I like heart diamonds a lot, but I do not have one. Have you tried them on yet?
When we were looking to get engaged 11 yrs ago, all the jewelers discouraged from buying heart diamonds saying it ruins the stone, and my husband hated them as well. So I have round brilliant, which is gorgeous.

Definitely go try some heart rings on and see how you like them. Post pics!

Here's mine...I love hearts :) I don't know the depth/girdle information on mine...the appraisal says VS1 G color...each heart is between 0.20 - 0.25

if you want to check out the album it's http://s516.photobucket.com/albums/u323/tukadorfashion/jewelry/

but it's very hard to photograph diamond and capture the real beauty
:smile1:

There's also Union Diamond who sells loose stones...and one of my favorites (they have fancy colored diamonds) is http://www.fancydiamonds.net/

My engagement ring is a heart diamond, it is a 1.25 heart and I love it. Very unique and we were married on Valentine's Day so it is special. The only complaint I have and I think it is because after we were married in 2010 I found this forum and started wishing it was bigger. So I called up the jeweler and asked about an upgrade, he said sorry my diamond was a special order and there is no changing it. I mentioned this to my DH and he looked hurt, so I will just leave it. He is very generous but doesn't want me to touch the ring. My heart has a beautiful shape which is important. Sometimes I ask my DH, can you tell it is a heart because no one ever comments on it, if I see a nice ring I always let the person know some women are jealous I guess.

I tried on the Tiffany yellow diamond heart ring. It was GORGEOUS (it's not mine - I have the soleste!) Not a great pic because the quality is a little fuzzy and my fingers are swollen :sweatdrop: but I'll post it here anyway:

It's a 2.21 carat heart shaped fancy vivid diamond and halo for 70k. Pricing before the recent price increase.

I have also been recently looking for heart shaped diamonds. None of the jewelers in my area carry them. I have been told they are a difficult sale and not very popular. Probably why the jeweler was not interested in taking the heart diamond back.
In my research I have found out that cutters will usually only cut a heart if there is a defect where the v goes- otherwise they will cut a pear as it is much more popular. As far as table ideal is 55%-60% and depth 59% to 63%. With that said I have been told you really need to see it in person rather than go by paper.
You'd think since there is low demand that hearts would be less expensive, but because supply is also low- they cancel out. Hearts can also be a bit of a challenge for some settings, I've seen many heart rings ruined by prong placement and poor setting. As far as online places to buy- I think it was on Whiteflash that I saw several. I'd have to check my notes.
Any idea what size you are looking for?

Love the tiffany yellow heart-very pretty cut and setting!!

I have heard from several vendors that hearts are either a "love them or hate them" type stone

I have been collecting photos of favorite heart rings- but I don't own any of these. Most are fancy colored diamonds because that's what I'm most interested in right now- but settings could be used for colorless diamonds also.

I love heart shaped diamonds but there is a very small market for them. I guess that only adds to the uniqueness. My hubby explains them as pink Cadillacs. Small market. Lately i have seen a few gorgeous pear shaped diamonds set in heart shaped halos. I love the look, it's unique and gorgeous and much easier to find an all around awesome pear than a heart. And it could stretch your budget a significant amount. Just a suggestion in case you have a hard time finding the perfect heart.

OMG your rocks are so fabulous, my eyes are literally smiling in glee!!!

I just went to Union Diamond and had a look-around. I saw a 2 carat colourless diamond for 15k usd and i was excited till I saw from the stats that the heart shape was not ideal. :D

Yep, I definitely agree many women are just jealous, and would totally give you the side eye if you are admiring their things.

I too, love to compliment others on their beautiful possessions haha though sometimes they do give me the 'Who is this weirdo?' look. ;)

Do post pics of your beautiful ring!

These photos are lovely, gosh and they are after my heart too! I have always wanted a pink diamond heart ring, but pink diamonds are so pricey so I am guessing a 2 carat colourless heart diamond is all I would allow my SO to buy for me.

For your table and depth ideals, are they for just the heart shape or are they ideals across the board for all diamond shapes?

As for my setting, I would just want a simple platinum band to hold the diamond. :)
