I have literally just seen the UK prices and have been priced out. I just can’t justify the prices of anything they have anymore. I love their stuff but I’m out! Also last time I bought something, the whole queue was full of people wanting to take something in for repair and that put me off.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Like at @Swanky said I guess there is some benefit to living in the US :P . Prices are definitely high though.
I haven't completely cut Cartier out yet, though there are some things that are no longer worth it for me.

Still eyeing those stainless steel watches , I think they're still worth it for a solid everyday watch.

It sucks that they increased big time in most countries. So far in the US there has been practically no increase so for now, I will keep buying. But after a few more items I will probably start getting priced out too.

in Australia, the love bracelet increased by 700$ and JUC regular size increased by 500$. i think it is too much as prices are already too high for fine jewellery.
Omg absolutely! That’s ridiculous. I know it’s about the design, heritage, etc but come on I can get an 18ct gold bangle by Robert coin on sale right now for around £1,800 and that’s also a designer item with markup! I can get a solid gold bangle for £900 at my local chain jewellery store which also has great craftsmanship. Cartiers prices are just getting too ridiculous and same for VCA I hate to say.

with the amount of wear and appreciation I get for Cartier...

I will go on with my wishlist.

even though i don't think it is fair to increase the price for the new collection which drops just a few days before the increase.

but prices will go up across everything (happy covid times come with a payback). Time to increase my rates accordingly :) and rethink my spending on not-so-hard-value-quality

Fair enough my pieces also bring me joy and I wear them everyday but what doesn’t bring me joy is cartier saying “jump” and I say “how high?” Everyone works hard for their money and this is getting insulting. Their profit margins are massive. There’s no need to take the p*ss out of us.

Interest rates - thats a p……. Off with living expenses and no options not-to-buy-not-to-live-in-place(rented or own). This makes poor poorer and rich richer

Cartier is an option of choice and discretional spending. Lots of smaller spending and smaller price increases this is what erodes the budgeted expenses and creeps in.

And fair enough - Cartier openly gave me at least two week notice to jump if i feel like jumping…

the Feds were not that graceful :)

Absolutely the living expenses thing is awful. Greed is the common theme here. Whether it’s Cartier or anything else. But especially considering the economic climate….I personally think the price is no longer justified.

I understand that these latest price increases may bother some, what I don't understand is why it is now thought that "those prices are ridiculous" when they have ALWAYS been ridiculous compared to what you can get in jewelry that is not designer.

You’re right. Always ridiculous. I think they just happened to reach my threshold of tolerance. + the fact that we are in a horrible recession probably as well.
