Surfer Jen, that's an awesome future push prezzie!

I'd love something w all 3 boys' birthstones, either a ring or a pendant... Or even something w mine and dh's and their stones all together.

There's also shop on etsy that takes fingerprint molds and makes solid silver jewelry... My fav is the heart necklace w 3 fingerprints inside, perfect for my three.

I'm pretty banned since I already bought a bag "for shlepping around w the new babe..." :D
And the midwife I use isn't covered by insurance, totally outofpocket...

I have to go easy on the DH this time around or he'll really flip out!

I have some nice jewelry and some heavy, gold traditional stuff...With one son (age 6) sometimes I feel will his future gf/wife do justice to my pieces...or will she just sell them off and get something else....Sorry, just a ramble...but yes, its always easy to buy REAL expensive stuff when kids are young...Even at 3 n 1/2 that Montessori was hell expensive...lol!!

You guys are reminding me, I didn't get a lot of jewelry when my kids were young. Young kids ARE expensive. Plus they pull on pearl necklaces and break them, get scratched by diamond rings and get in your jewelry box and make havoc.
I also didn't get push presents. My kids were my push presents.
However, as a child and teenager I was gifted with a lot of stuff (my grandmothers were very generous, my dad was VERY generous), I inherited various things--when my dad died, my mom gave me a lot of the stuff he gave her that she never liked. And as soon as hubby had money, he started to get me jewelry. but didn't like to give away before becasue it would hurt his feelings. It's hard to get me anything else! I'm allergic to cashmere, allergic to perfume, don't like chocolate-- so it's either flowers or jewelry. Jewelry tends to last longer.
I have all boys so hopefully will have granddaughters to leave some of this too, but meanwhile sometimes I give things to daughters of friends that I like. I do have one son who wears an earring.

When my kids were young I didn't have a big desire for jewelry, too many other things to think about and pay for. Now that my youngest is in college I have more time and more funds to explore jewelry. And I love it!

LOL! This post made me laugh because I just bought a bunch of really expensive jewelry this past year. I wasn't so sure if I should buy them, but a girlfriend who is 10 years older encouraged me, telling me that when my kids are older, it would be much harder to buy things for myself.

Guess she is right!
