Hi all! I wanted to get some input from those who may have the Butterfly BTF Ring (or maybe any VCA BTF ring).

I saw and tried on the Butterfly BTF ring last year when I was pregnant and fell absolutely in love. It’s been about a year and I still think about it and drool over it. However, I never pulled the trigger bc of the hefty price + the fact that the ring can’t be resized. Being pregnant + postpartum + potentially having another baby, my weight is fluctuating and I don’t want to spend so much on something that I love but I can’t wear and appreciate right now (esp with new baby lifestyle). It really is so beautiful though and I consider maybe I can wear it in the future?

If not the ring, I’m considering the earrings? (DH isn’t a fan of the ring anyway- he thinks it’s too whimsical). Haven’t tried them on yet though. Anyone who has either, can you say that the earrings would be just as satisfying as the ring?

Appreciate all input!

I have the MOP ring version, AND I had the earrings too. I sold the earrings, as I felt it didn't offer the same presence as other earrings. Maybe if they were pave, I'd change my mind haha. I love seeing the ring on my finger.

I bought the ring well after I had kids and am at my consistent weight. I don't wear it too often, but when I do, I am very happy when I look down at it.

My first time purchasing a ring from VCA was the perlee clover ring. I was on holiday in a hot place, and I still haven't lost my postpartum weight. I ordered a size that was measured that day at the boutique, and it arrived 8 months later, in which I lost almost 15 pounds. Unfortunately, all they could do was add sizing balls inside to make it not fall off my fingers.

I would suggest perhaps getting it for your ring finger size now, and perhaps if you lose weight, it can later shift to your middle/pointer finger? While VCA may not resize, if this is a forever piece, you can bring to a trusted jeweler to resize for you. Though most would not suggest this.

Just my thoughts! You can always wait, this is a permanent line. :)

I’m in the exact same boat as you and I’m going to wait until I’m done having kids and my weight stabilizes before getting a BTF ring. It’s hard to tell right now if it will go back down or just continue getting bigger with subsequent kids because every woman is so different. The earrings are lovely too so if you wanted something to hold you over perhaps you could go for the earrings or necklace first and get the BTF later! I would ask your SA if they can bring it in for you to try on so you can decide if it feels right for you.

For the ring, does anyone know the conversion between US ring size and btf ring size? I tried it on in France, and I forget what size I was.

I wear a size 4.5 or 5. I feel like I was a size 47 to 49. But I don’t remember. I know you size down usually, to accommodate the gap. Does anyone have guidance on how they sized the 2-butterfly ring?

I think the ring has a lot of give because it’s open. Also, even though you can’t resize the ring, you kinda also can. Or add beads on the inside if you need it slightly smaller. My purchase decision would be based on how drastically your ring size changes, since the design does offer a lot of accommodation anyway.

I do prefer the ring more than the earrings. I think the design shows better.

You wear the rings so well. The BTF line is simple, yet elegant. I fell in love with it after seeing someone wear both the earrings and ring.

My ring is a little loose as I actually don't mind the ring twisting around my finger.

BTW, Mariah Carey actually wore the diamond earrings in one of her carpools. They looked amazing to me!

Someone can give you an answer for the butterfly btf ring I'm sure, but I thought I would respond since I have the same ring size. I wear US size 5 and wear size 49 in VCA single finger rings like the Perlee. I have not tried the btf butterfly ring, but for the btf perlee, I had to size down to size 47 and it was still a bit loose. I think @BigAkoya had some input about different sizing for 2 of the btf rings in some thread; I think possibly one of them was the butterfly btf. I know she has tried it on at the very least and has other VCA rings to compare the sizing with.

If the ring is what makes your heart sing then I would get it and not wait for weight to ‘stabilise’. I have had 3 kids and my fingers never changed size. Whereas one of my coworkers who is in her mid 40s and no kids was telling me other day that she can’t wear her rings anymore as her knuckles suddenly expanded. She is tall and slender, and has no weight changes. You never know when your fingers will change. I would get ring for your middle finger or leave some room to grow and use a sizer if needed to bring size down. I have done this with all my vca rings and no regret. I can wear them on any finger now and just deal with them being a bit lose or use sizer. I also wear all my bling with my kids. I find it easier to wear bling then nice clothes that get destroyed with their activities. Bling, Zara and havaianas flip flops are my jam these days!!
I likr the btf butterfly ring. I think it is more special than the earrings and you can see it and enjoy it!

Agree with you!!

I guess I can't relate really to the weight fluctuations, but are your fingers changing size a lot?

I have this ring (it's my engagement ring), and I've worn it every day for over 5 years. No regrets. Still love it love it. If you love it this much, just get it. You can always move it to another finger (e.g., from middle finger to ring finger for example).

Keep us posted!

the MOP version is my favorite out of all the Butterfly BTF rings. it looks so beautiful on you. as others stated above, I don't think the fingers change much over time, but the knuckles may get bigger. I still wear the same size of E-ring and wedding ban, and they fit just the same. I think only during permanency, my fingers were swollen. One thing I would add to consider in making size decision with my own experience is summer/winter, ring fits tighter/looser. Good luck and let us know your decision.
