I think I am going to Cartier this week to have them take off my bracelet for a little while. I thought I would try bextasy's way through securitry but I really don't want to have to worry. It is such a pain to slow down my family through security. I know I will feel "naked" without it but it'll be so wonderful to get it back on. Has anyone else here ever stopped wearing Love for a couple weeks or a couple months?

To be honest, I really dont think you should have to plan taking off your bangle, honestly these security guards know all about these bangles, when I wear mine it goes off, they just wave a wand thing over my arm and it bleeps, then I go on my merry way.

I just saw your post Lulilu, I might try that next time, although I am a bit worried to cover my bangle, knowing my luck I would look suspect and I would be throw into an orange jumpsuit in detention quicker than I can say "Cartier".Lol!

why do you specifically have to go to cartier to have it removed? didn't yours come with a screwdriver????

i refuse to remove mine (unless it's getting polished :graucho:) and when we went on vacation in august, my husband and daughter had no problem with it, especially since we were anticipating a minor delay as a result. it took literally 10 minutes max, that's it.

but of course it is ultimately up to you. everybody is different.

Yes of course I have the screwdriver! But it is on my right hand and I'm right-handed. My DH fine motor skills are not that great. He has trouble with buttons on collars and cuffs! Since Cartier does it all the time and I'll be at KOP anyway, it is just easiest. Two of my darling children are boy teenagers and they don't appreciate waiting for me (at security). My DD doesn't mind. But why do I really need to explain all this......
Also, it will be more than 10 minutes at holiday time!!!

you don't NEED to do anything...i was only asking and gosh, i'm sorry! you've been very up front about everything else regarding your bracelet on this forum, so i just assumed we were having a "conversation" about it.

next time, i'll keep my "mouth" shut. sorry!

I traveled home the other day and did my method and no problem again... I have been doing this method for 2 years and have not had a problem. It used to always beep

Bump! While I was traveling in December and walking through the metal detector doing my "trick" the security lady noticed it didn't go off and said, "Wow someone taught you a good trick!" I thought of all of you when she said this!

Since I removed my Love bracelet for Christmas trip to Florida, I have not put it back on. I was very happy that I didn't have it because we returned to Philadelphia on Dec.29. The security was extra tight and long lines with extra searches of laptops, etc. We are going away again to Columbus and I'm contemplating putting Love back on to try Bextasy's trick!

can you post a picture of this bracelet? i'm really curious!

i get so annoyed at airport security sometimes, yes i know they're there to "protect" us but seriously, i'm korean. the most i'll have strapped to me is kimchee or BBQ.

i'm gonna try the frankenstein walk this thursday when i go to hawaii!
