Hi everyone! I am looking for some guidance. An item that has long been on my wishlist is the Serpenti watch, I’ve started shopping around and I would love opinions on which one to get. I have a lot of yellow gold and white gold/platinum jewelry. I have a good friend who’s wanting to sell her very gently preowned 2-tone rose gold and stainless steel, she knows I’ve been wanting this watch and she would give me a pretty fabulous deal or I could buy the stainless steel version new. My question is, would rose gold go okay with my current yellow gold jewelry? I don’t own any rose gold nor do I see myself owning any other rose gold pieces. Or is the stainless steel a better bet? Obviously 2-tone yellow gold would be perfect but not in my budget. If anyone has photos of mixing jewelry with their Serpenti watches I would love to see them. Thanks so much!

Agree with @A bottle of Red , best to see if you can try on the watch in-store with your daily pieces.
If that particular piece is not available, at least try on with other rose gold watches or bracelets to see if Bvlgari rose gold is to you liking.
Or, if your friend does not mind, try on the watch she'd like to sell to you.

I have a Bvlgari rose Serpenti ring (no Bvlgari watches) that I stack with a Cartier WG JUC ring and wear with other RG and YG. Mixing and matching is totally okay with me.

I feel it's very much a matter of personal preference when it comes to TT watches and wearing various golds.

She does not live close to me anymore but I am visiting her in about a month i just didn’t want her to hold off on selling it if I’m not going to purchase it from her. I also don’t have a boutique close to me unfortunately! So I’m kind of left just guessing, trying to find photos online but having trouble 😬

Hmm...I'll be going shopping this coming weekend, not sure which day, either Saturday or next Monday.

If you're willing to wait, I can go into Bvlgari and try on the watches you're interested in and post photos here.

For reference my daily pieces are YG love and RG Tiffany bangle.
My wedding band is platinum and e-ring is WG.

I guess I can ask them if I can pair the watches with other metals as well.

Thoughts?

I think the two tone rose would work with your YG and Platinum jewelry. But, I am not a matchy person. I’m getting the impression that you would really like a YG/SS two tone watch. I agree with those above to ask your friend if you can try it on with what you already own. Unless you love it, I would wait.

However, since I am not personally a fan of two tone watches, and if I already mixed yg and platinum jewelry, I would pick stainless for myself. In case you are wondering about Bulgari RG. . .Here are pics of the rose gold Bulgari tubogas serpenti bracelet. I mix it with YG necklace. I believe the ring is also YG. Recently the bracelet head fell off (don’t ask lol). Bulgari was very apologetic, fixed it, and it came back looking pinker than this pic, and brand new. So, it’s possible that your friends watch will look less pink than a brand new one, idk

@A bottle of Red , I dropped it. The pave head inserts into the body of the tubogas.

Oh my goodness that is so kind of you. If you happen to pass by Bulgari and it won’t take too much of your time that would be wonderful! Don’t worry though if not. I am leaning towards stainless steel after some feedback!

Thank you so much, this helps!

I've tried on the bulgari 2-tone watch and I found it quite subtly pink so it might go with your YG jewellery. Imo it blows the stainless out the water! There used to be a 2-tone YG/steel - perhaps investigate how much that would cost you secondhand?

In general I dislike mixing YG and RG, it's a pet peeve of mine, but I've noticed that if I don't mix it on one hand it usually works for me. So if I'm wearing an RG bracelet I'll wear the YG jewellery on my other hand/wrist. Will this be possible for you? What colour is your daily ring / ering? If its plat I think you will be fine with the 2-tone watch!

Yea sure, no worries! I’ll be shopping with a gf so we are definitely hitting some places up anyway.
Besides, always great to try some fun items on in store, haha

I’m not a rose gold fan in general and I would say it’s a bit of a pet peeve of mine too to mix the yellow gold with rose however from online photos and what I remember of my friend’s 2 tone, the rose gold was not too pink. My e-ring is platinum!
