Bulgari Serpenti Bag. Is It Worth It?

They're made very well and have been around in different variations for a while. My favourite B line.
I have two charms, one of which I’ve used on and off as a clutch the past three years, and it’s held up well. I absolutely love them. While the snake head is distinctive, it’s very classic Bulgari, so I see it being timeless.
I have looked at these bags for a while as absolutely intend to buy one soon.
The serpenti is a flap shoulder bag which is me do the most timeless styles. There isn’t a season when it’s ever goes “out of style.”
Additionally, the Serpenti has been around for quite a while now. The good thing about Bvulgari not being a company focused on leather goods is that they don’t change their styles with nearly the frequency as brands such as LV or Fendi. So, this will likely stay “current” with new iterations coming out for years to come.
Another consideration - the quality seems to be excellent. The construction is beautiful and every post I’ve seen on tPF from owners has them loving the bag.
One thing to consider is that resale is likely not going to be great. Some of the major consignors won’t take the bag (I think Fashionphile, for example, does not.). And because it isn’t a widely popular handbag brand, there won’t be a huge amount of resale interest. That wouldn’t bother me as this is such a special bag, I don’t think I could ever part with it.

Funny that this was posted recently. They’ve been on my radar for so long, and I love that they are all handmade. So I ended up getting these yesterday - stingray, Python, elaphe. I love them!! I want more!!

I know... and I got some fragrances too. It was so hard to decide - I find their bags stunning. I immediately came home thinking... what’s my next wish list item?! I am enjoying something different than the usual usual. I hope more join in with pics and purchases here.What a gorgeous collection!!! That was quite the splurge
@TraceySH I tried the top left ( elaphe) bag and I agree with you, the bag is gorgeous! Even more so in real life. I'm just going to be honest that this bag even more luxurious than my Chanel. I love Bvlgari chain which is fluid and jewelry like. The skin also glistened with silver sparkles. The piece is solid and well made. You made an excellent choice Tracey!
Ok so I am not the only one with the obsession about the chain! I LOVE THE CHAIN!!! And yes of course the quality is so much better than Chanel, and I've been a Chanel girl for a long time (just getting out of it the last few months). I am contemplating getting a larger, more everyday bag, as I really do love how sleek and simple yet edgy and sexy they are. Did you get one yourself @splurgetothemax ?
The chain is a lot better than Chanel's. My sister in law who owns vintage Chanel also agree with me. Bvlgari's is sleeker and no worries of dark marks on the leather where the chain and leather are weaved, especially on light colored leather which definitely will cost more to clean. No, I didn't get the bag. I was too busy looking on their jewelry. But, I remember the impressive feeling that I felt when I touched the bag and I've never felt that feeling when I touch my Chanel bags.
I know. And you are so right. I know I love bags when I just sit there and play with them. I play with my Hermes, I play with my Delvaux, I played with these the other night, sometimes also with Dior, never with Chanel. That says it all. I agree with poster above Chanel has become a contemporary brand.
I adore the serpenti! I have a large in metallic silver and a toy version in metallic sapphire. Best quality. Bvlgari’s attention to detail is incredible. The chain, the mirror it comes with (larger versions) the way they stamp logos throughout, while simultaneously being so discreet.
I will praise this bag to anyone who asks... I really don’t understand why it’s not much more popular. But I’m glad because it’s nice to carry something that’s not on every other girl’s shoulder. This is a lifetime piece, it will never date. It’s truly like wearing jewelry or art. Just a breathtaking bag.
