Bubbling in clemence leather?

Never overpack a bag. It will stretch and permanently distort the leather. Anything too big can leave a press mark, especially in a soft leather. This is what you're seeing here.

I would try storing flat in a light cotton Pillowcase or dust bag for a day or two , it might just reshape overnight ..
If it doesn’t , you can find something to put inside it that hugs the natural shape of the bag and you can then put an object such as a small heavy bible on top to flatten the leather .
Short term use only though , or you could end up with a reverse stamp !!!!

When I moved over here from uk a couple of leather steering wheels shifted in shipping and left dents in the leather .
The newer one fixed itself in a day or 3 , the harder vintage one took a couple of weeks cushioned on towels in a hot garage whilst manipulating the small dents with leather cleaner/conditioner every day or so ...

Yours is newer , and bigger .
So should be an easy fix if it doesn’t fix itself .

I honestly find this really hard to believe. I would be surprised if it doesn’t flatten. That pack of wipes is not over stuffing the bag. I have put all 4 of my kids iPads in mine - in addition to all the other crap I keep in there and I’ve never had this problem (same leather). And I’ve stuffed numerous stuff in the back pocket - for longer then a day Good luck! I’m sure it will flatten!

Same thing happened to me when I put my cell phone in the outside pocket of my Evie....since then I don’t store things like that there and use a maitai bag insert in the main compartment. You could try what others have suggested here! I put a small face towel in the pocket for a few days and it seemed to help.

It's a bag. Meant to be used to carry things. If I had to worry about every little thing I toss in my evies, I wouldn't use them. When you use it again, whatever you put in it will cause some kind of shape in the pockets and main compartment. Use it and forget it.

Been wanting to reply but was away and unable to log in on my phone for some reason! I’m happy to report the bubbling is mostly gone to he point where you’d have to be looking for it to know it’s there. Glad to know this can happen though! I’ve been more aware of how I’m storing individual items in there, and if anyone’s curious, I’ve since stored my wipes in the main compartment.

Cell phone? Really? Out of curiosity, which phone do you have? My iPhone X hasn’t been an issue so far.

I know this is an old post but the SAME THING happened to me, and it was absolutely not overstuffed. Plus I have an insert and I’m extremely gentle with the bag. This is the LAST Clemence I will ever own…it’s just not practical.

I agree with @Pessie, and this indent seems odd to me. But I also didn’t really pay much attention to what I shoved into my Evelynes and agree with @lulilu that this may be the nature of the bag and it’s intended use.

This doesn't make sense to me, Clemence imprinting so easily. I have a Clemence Evelyne 29 that was soaked - and I mean soaked - in water (in a flood in an airplane cabin). It remained dripping wet for several hours (while I went through customs and drove 2 hours to my hotel!). There were objects in the bag and in the pocket until I was able to get somewhere and empty the bag. The bag had to be blotted with towels and took all night to dry.
This bag STILL did not get marks from the objects in it. It has some slight loss of shape, but no marks or imprinting.

I am also villainous with my Evie TPMs and overstuff them, and no marks or pouching or bubbles at all.

OP here… and this is actually an old post as I’ve had this bag 5 years now. The mark isn’t noticeable unless I look for it.

I’m glad that this bubbling issue hasn’t been a problem for others and doesn’t appear to be the norm, but it did happen to my bag with all details about what was placed in that compartment fully disclosed. Hopefully this can prevent someone else from having a similar issue.
