It's a Japanese label called Kataoka, and Alchemy in Portland carries it.I love the antique look of the rose cut but the round brilliant adds more sparkle to it. Tough decision!!!! If it was me I'd go for that sparkle? It's a lovely ring as well! What brand/designer is this if you don't mind me inquiring?
I would assume the same thing about rose cuts. I asked a store carrying this brand, and the owner said that the Japanese customers don't really demand the 4Cs as part of the diamond specs, and they just expect it to be really high quality. He can try to get me the diamond grade, but it sounds like it doesn't really compute when he asks the designer. As much love as I have for rounds, I say go for the Rose Cut. Do these need to have greater clarity to look good? I assume that the fewer facets a diamond has, the better the clarity needs to be so you don't see inclusions. I know round brilliants can mask inclusions due to how light gets reflected around in them.
You have the best taste! I can see how the rose cut is more your taste but don't think you would regret the brilliant either![]()
I love the sparkle of the brilliant.
you really cannot go wrong with either, it's diamonds after all! but for this particular style I think rose cuts would be especially beautiful!
I love the sparkle of brilliant, but this style begs for the rose cut. What a gorgeous and unique and feminine ring!!!
Brilliant.
Will do! I'll have it in 6-8 weeks. Please post a pic when you get it. It is so beautiful.
Thank you! I talked to the salesperson at Alchemy and he said Kataoka's rose cut diamonds are pretty sparkly, and the smaller stones are brilliant cuts. I think that will make a nice combo. So glad you decided on Rose cut! That vintage look will work perfectly with that design and that ring is GORGEOUS![]()
Wow - what a beautiful ring! I love it in the rose cut. It's so unique & vintage. Enjoy!
