Ok, I chickened out and went and exchanged the red bag for the black. There is something about the black one that is different than the other colors. It seems to be softer and more bada$$ in my opinion. I feel more comfortable using it as an everyday bag. Plus, I noticed last night that the black has chipped off on several places on the red bag's hardware and the copper color was showing. That was the deal breaker. I am super happy now and even though I have the black Mickey saddle bag in the smooth glove tanned leather. These are 2 black bags that are different enough to justify keeping both.

That's why I've stayed away from the black copper. I have horrible luck and I know mine would chip like that and it would drive me nuts.

The black bag was the last they had in the store and I looked it over to make sure the hardware was a-ok. I was also pretty miffed that the Lunch Pail I returned was on clearance already. I paid $160 with tax and shipping for that bag and in store they are going for $89.

What a scare you had! I'm so glad you're on the mend. I pray you have a full recovery.
Congrats on the bag! Too bad the red didn't work out. That color is gorgeous! The good thing is you got one you love. [emoji41]

I'm so sorry to read of your health struggles. It's hard, and you sound like you have a good spirit about it. I love the bag, and 1941 Red, which I think is classic. Enjoy it!

So, it has been a rough couple of months for me. In mid-July I went to the ER thinking I had food poisoning and ended up with Septic Shock and renal failure from an ovarian tumor that abscessed. After being in the ICU for 7 days and having a complete hysterectomy I am on the long road to recovery. Luckily, I was well enough to go on our vacation to New York that was planned a year ago. That being said I need a little pick me up, something different. My husband jokingly says I am version 2.0 of myself seeing that I came back from the brink of death and I need to branch out from my comfortable norm (which is usually black).
Initially I bought the re-issue lunch pail bag from the FOS, but because of the hurricane it took a little longer to get to me on the West Cost (which is understandable). By the time I got it yesterday, I was over it and honestly it looked a funny hanging on me. I went to my outlet today to return it, and OMG!! There was a delete-palooza! There was an overload of saddle bags. One thing I regret is getting rid of the 2 whipstitch saddle bags I had. I had the oxblood and the western rivets in black both in the regular size. I think what freaked me out about them is that they had the light tan suede interiors. Now I have the Mickey one, but like I said, the 2.0 version needs to branch out and I bought the red one and love it! Since my strength is not 100% I need to carry crossbodies or backpacks. It has an oxblood interior and I don't have to fuss about it as much. My hangtag that I got in NY looks good on it to. It was 20% off and then another 50, so it came to $278.
