Hello everyone! I’m planning to get myself a gift to celebrate a recent career milestone, but I’m having a hard time deciding between two bracelets, the Love and the Perlee signature bracelet. I think both of the styles are gorgeous but neither is a clear winner.

For some additional context, it makes me very uncomfortable to have coworkers assessing the price I paid for one of my luxury items, so I hardly ever wear luxury to work. I would obviously have to wear the love to work, but I’d be able to wear the VCA selectively.

Based on the below pros/cons, or on your own experience, which do you recommend and why? Or do you recommend a different bangle-style bracelet? Thank you!

Love bracelet:
Pros:
  • I actually love the style and believe i would gravitate towards it even if it was not as popular as it is
  • The more masculine look fits well with my casual wardrobe
  • One of the most versatile (if not the best?) bracelet to stack with, IMO. Would look great with my JUC
Cons:
  • It’s loud. Many people know this is a very expensive item (am I right about this?? Or am I just living in my own personal bubble of luxury where I am familiar with the prices of many items)
  • Not easily removed - I would have to wear it to work
  • I exercise daily, most of the time with weights. I am also not a super delicate or careful person, so I know it would get significantly scratched even if I wear a sweatband when working out
Perlee Signature Bracelet:
Pros:
  • Not as easily recognized as the love
  • Can take it off and put on daily
  • Not as easily scratched given the beaded edges
Cons:
  • The large size is a little more snug than I would like it to be. It does fit fine but doesn’t go very far down my arm. See attached photo of the Perlee clover (my skin looks very pink in the boutique lighting so please ignore that)
  • I’m unlikely to get another VCA perlee bangle to stack with it, and it doesn’t look great with the JUC, IMO
  • Unknown when I’ll actually be able to get it as it’s been out of stock for a long time
  • Not as easily dressed down (I know many on this forum consider “dressed down” to be jeans and a tee, but I’m talking leggings and a hoodie)
  • I suppose the signature engraving should bother me given I don’t want something loud, but for some reason I don’t think it’s very noticeable

I recently sold my cartier love for the signature. I work out every day and having the love on 24 7 really bothered me. I love the signature. I thought the engraving would bother me but it's really not noticable. I also think it looks great stacked with a lot of different bracelet styles.
Based on your list, I think the biggest con for the love is it can't be taken off ...that was the ultimate deal breaker for me and I didn't like the look with all the superficial scratches that the love is bound to get.

The biggest cons I see with the perlee though is that the large is a little snug... if that would bother you, that would be the deal breaker...

Congrats on your promotion!
I agree with you that Perlee doesnt look good with JUC. Have you considered thin love? if not what about Hermès kelly, H Ancre bracelet or CDC bracelet?

Yes I love the CDC and the Kelly bracelets! I am waiting until I am “settled” in one city to really start an H relationship, so I’ll save that purchase for then. Why do you recommend the thin love? Easier to remove and put back on because it’s only one screw?

I prefer the love bracelet over the perlee. Now, that said, I don’t know if either of these bracelets are the best choice for you given the list of cons for each. If I were you, I’d maybe consider other options.

Have you seen the clash (Cartier)? It’s beautiful and not recognizable since it’s a fairly new design- And you can take it on and off daily. Or perhaps check out bangles from a different place like Tiffany’s, etc.

Yes exactly! I dont like getting my bracelets scratched up by wearing 24/7 and also like to wear only few things at a time. I am considering getting thin love with diamonds. Part of me wishes Cartier would fix the locking mechanism of the regular Love bracelet.

Love clash. I am thinking of doing thin love 6 diamonds+ regular JUC with diamonds and Clash small.

I would look at Hermès Kelly or CDC braceletS. It’s less recognized and can be taken off easily. I have the Love, JUC and CDC and no one knows the CDC. It’s great if you want to wear it to work but be under the radar as far as recognition. I would only get the Hermès pre owned because their prices are crazy for retail and sell used for way less used than Cartier.

Congrats on your promotion! I was promoted (a major career milestone in my industry) in December as well so I got myself the 5 motif gold bracelet.

I would go with the Love Bracelet if I were you. I also try not to be super loud about my designer things at work and to be honest, no one really notices. I only had one person noticed my thin love bracelet and she was a middle-aged mom type who loved to gossip and pry about people's personal lives. Otherwise, no one noticed / cared. I started wearing my designer handbags to work more because of that, and again, no one cared / said anything.

I exercise with my thin love bracelet on (I do boxing and barre). I found that it scratches really easily with just normal daily wear so wearing it to exercise doesn't really make it more scratched compared to normal.

From your description, it sounds like you truly love the Love Bracelet and are considering the Perlee bracelet as a consolation prize. Don't settle! Go for the one you really love. If you get the Perlee bracelet, your heart might still call for the Love bracelet and you'll eventually have to add it to your collection too. That's been my personal experience!

I bought the love cuff and later a signature perlee. I am usually a love bangle type person, clean lines and bold look. Then I found the squared off edges not that comfortable on my wrist. I bought the perlee and was surprised at how very comfortable it is. Love that I can take it off. That is a deal breaker for me cause I workout.
