You really should get everything you buy from a second hand source authenticated. Even sites and sellers that have a great track record can make mistakes. This is particularly scary for those of us who are not yet able to determine real vs fake on our own yet. We put trust in the real real to authenticate items.
This op was able to determine authenticity on her own but not everyone can do that.( I know I can't)
It's a shame because people will really think twice before ordering now .
I personally do but I'm sure not everyone does ( see Gucci authentication thread lol)You really should get everything you buy from a second hand source authenticated. Even sites and sellers that have a great track record can make mistakes.
My gosh. I didn't even have to zoom in on your pics to know the glasses they sent you were fake. The case alone. The CC logo... Will never purchase from them knowing they sold something like that as authentic. So finally an update:
I got my money back... 2 days ago. This was after multiple calls, e-mails, calling them out on Twitter & posting this.
Keep in mind I actually returned multiple things (principle) and those refunds were received right away. The stupid glasses were the sole hold out. I didn’t remove tags or anything; they were packaged as they arrived. They couldn’t ever give a reason as to why it took nearly a month from the time of purchase until I received the refund—even though the others had been in my account for 2 weeks.
Bottom line: I’m done with realreal. I’ve shopped with them a decent amount (clothes & shoes for the most part) & while yes, they have some good prices, the customer service is so far gone & their social media people even refused to admit a mistake or apologize... they just went on claiming their team of authenticators were ‘experts.’ Not worth the headache.
I hope this has helped someone to be aware. Also, if you see a pair of s5018 or 5018 Chanel ½ tint sunnies, chances are, they’re the ones I just returned. Do not buy them unless you want to spend $700 on counterfeit merchandise.
I hope you’re all having a good weekend.
