Is the price too good to be true?!

I have searched for these daily. I’ve had alerts for them on other consignment sites. Last Friday, I hit the jackpot: they came up on Real Real for almost $800. I had a discount code which brought them in to the $500 range.

By now you’ve probably guessed—my HG sunnies are the s5018. I’ll certainly post photos when they arrive (tomorrow or Wednesday) but knowing how many fakes are out there + the fact that many posts mention you can’t get them for under $10k has me paranoid. Because you know... I wouldn’t be myself were I not worried about something.

Wow, that's a lot! I got my Chanel sunnies for around $400 new from Chanel.

I hope you love them! Make sure you get them authenticated. The Real Real doesn't have a good track record for selling authentic.

1k? Or 10k? [emoji15]

*I* sure as hell didn’t pay $10k, but in searching older threads, someone else mentioned that’s what they were selling for. (Crazy.)

I paid 500-something, which I’m okay with if they’re authentic. I received them a few minutes ago & I’m not feeling super confident based on comparison photos. Some things are right, but I believe the authentic pairs have a mark on the inside of the back arm. :( I buy from Real Real a lot for certain things, but this is my only Chanel purchase from them as memory serves. Pictures to come.

In addition to writing an e-mail, that’s exactly what I’m doing. This is one where I don’t even know how they missed it. I did take pictures of the serial number, which I’ll post in this thread so hopefully if someone Googles that, they’ll find it’s fake.

I don’t know why, with as big an enterprise as they are, they won’t return the item to the person who consigned them.

This is what I don't understand either . Why wouldn't they just return the fake to the consignor or dispose of it and tell the consignor that they disposed of it because it's fake. Why are they relisting fakes after being made aware? (Just to make money I guess) it's really low and pathetic of them.
