I'm not sure what everyone's agreeing on because they're both Tanks. Based on the photo of the two watches on your wrist, the one on the left is the Tank Francaise, the one on the right is the Tank Must.

I far prefer the Tank Francaise. I have always loved this watch. I think it's softer, more feminine and suits your wrist. The Tank Must is very similar to the Tank Americane. I find the length too long, in that it dominates your wrist, and the look is very hard and angular. Also, the width of the mounting around the face of the Tank Must is too thin.

The Tank Francaise on the other hand, is centered perfectly and isn't overwhelming. I also like the dimensions--it's slightly wider overall, the frame width around the face is softer, slightly rounded and more pleasing.

I don't like the look of the Tank Must and I don't like the proportions at all-at least not on you. By contrast, the Tank Francaise is a beautiful watch-it looks sporty but feminine and could well go with a wide range of outfits and occasions, whereas the Tank Must has a much sportier/daily vibe.

I've learned the hard-way--go with my gut on jewelry. My first impression is the accurate one. After that, I'm just second-guessing myself. I've made a lot of mistakes that way.

I also find that once I reach out to the forum about a decision on a piece of jewelry (or watch), it all but answers itself. If I need input from strangers, albeit, well-meaning strangers, it's because I'm looking for validation because I know it's not quite right and I'm not comfortable with my choice. The fact I've asked the question is a fait accompli--I have my answer.

The bottom-line is that it isn't what the forum members like, it's what you like. You'll be wearing this daily, I assume, and it's a one-time purchase. Buy what you love. Buy what pleases you, not us.
+1000. Tank Francaise (it’s nicely sized for your wrist) and if your gut feeling is second guessing the Tank must, listen to your feeling!

I was very underwhelmed by the francais when I tried it on. I thought I would want a solo (right before the Must came out) and ended up getting an americaine. I had the solo in my head for a very long time (probably like you and the francais) so it was shocking to me when I went the other way. You gut wouldnt steer you wrong. The new must is a beauty and looks great!

It’s the medium size. I have the same watch. I don’t think the medium is available with the date anymore. The small size never had it.
No wonder I don't see francais reveals with date (at least as far I've seen here in this forum). Thanks for the info. I think mine should be 6-7 years old. Need to dig out the cert.

Some part of memories are vague.

Hi everyone,

first of all. Thank you so much everyone for your comments. I have read every single one and eventually I went to Cartier store today to try on francaise again. The SA was really helpful and we tried both tank must and francaise so many times. Finally I decided to switch to francaise.

HOWEVER. The SA had to ask her manager for the exchange and they told me that the watch had minor scratches. I was so surprised by this as I’ve only tried it on in store and then of course tried it on at home several times. They declined my request to exchange and the SA told me that if it was up to her she would havee changed it but they have a strict policy since it had minor scratches (I could only see it with a lens).

obviously I’m so disappointed especially since I’ve just made up mind to switch. But even more I’m so sad that I already have scratches on it after just wearing it at home. Maybe it’s destiny telling me to not switch. I do still love the tank must but has anyone had a similar experience or does anyone know if I can do anything about it at all? This is my first purchase from Cartier so I’m quite surprised..

Thank you all kind strangers ❤️

I think destiny made you keep the right watch. The tank F to me is a very dated design. I think the tank M is lovely, sleek and modern on your wrist. Wear it in good health.

PS. You have just experienced the less than stellar Cartier customer service. Welcome to the club. ;)

Scratches will come. Don’t be bothered by them.

Thank you. That’s how it feels to me too atm :) however I am disappointed in Cartier. At least they could have told me this before I decided to switch because once I decided it was such a disappointment to not be able to. The SA had the watch from the beginning and didn’t raise any concern.

Forget all about the scratches (you need lens to see them) and enjoy your watch. It is really elegant. Congratulations.

I understand your disappointment. But if it can reassure you with your choice and not the bad customer service you got, I prefer the Must. It looks very elegant as other have said. It was your first choice and it is beautiful on you
Wear it in good health :flowers:
