Buying a first and only Cartier watch for myself as a milestone gift. Was eyeing Cartier Francaise for such a long time but ended up falling more in love with Tank Must. I went with the tank must as it was shinier and popped more than francaise and felt more "me".. however I am starting to feel like its maybe a bit too masculine on me? I havent used the watch. Just out it on myself at home. I need your ladies help with picking out the right model for me!

Both look beautiful on you, but tank looks more modern, not masculine at all and, something important, the dial is bigger and more comfortable for your sight. My vote is for tank.

No, I don’t think the tank looks too masculine. As others have said above, it is definitely a more modern look. Edgier. Not masculine…..but it has more attitude than the francaise. The francaise looks more old-fashioned and demure.

If I were choosing between the two I would definitely want the look of the tank, for myself.

I'm not sure what everyone's agreeing on because they're both Tanks. Based on the photo of the two watches on your wrist, the one on the left is the Tank Francaise, the one on the right is the Tank Must.

I far prefer the Tank Francaise. I have always loved this watch. I think it's softer, more feminine and suits your wrist. The Tank Must is very similar to the Tank Americane. I find the length too long, in that it dominates your wrist, and the look is very hard and angular. Also, the width of the mounting around the face of the Tank Must is too thin.

The Tank Francaise on the other hand, is centered perfectly and isn't overwhelming. I also like the dimensions--it's slightly wider overall, the frame width around the face is softer, slightly rounded and more pleasing.

I don't like the look of the Tank Must and I don't like the proportions at all-at least not on you. By contrast, the Tank Francaise is a beautiful watch-it looks sporty but feminine and could well go with a wide range of outfits and occasions, whereas the Tank Must has a much sportier/daily vibe.

I've learned the hard-way--go with my gut on jewelry. My first impression is the accurate one. After that, I'm just second-guessing myself. I've made a lot of mistakes that way.

I also find that once I reach out to the forum about a decision on a piece of jewelry (or watch), it all but answers itself. If I need input from strangers, albeit, well-meaning strangers, it's because I'm looking for validation because I know it's not quite right and I'm not comfortable with my choice. The fact I've asked the question is a fait accompli--I have my answer.

The bottom-line is that it isn't what the forum members like, it's what you like. You'll be wearing this daily, I assume, and it's a one-time purchase. Buy what you love. Buy what pleases you, not us.

Francaise to me looks better. Like what the previous has shared, the proportion for Must is not something I appreciate, especially on my small wrist. But then, it's all about what feel-me to you. So most importantly you're happy wearing one, whichever you've decided.

on another note, does anyone know what size is mine? It's a gift years ago and I'm not very versed with watch to begin with. Do they only come in 2 sizes?

This watch comes in three sizes. Small 20mm x 25mm, Medium 25mm x 30mm and Large 28mm x 32mm. (There's also a chronograph version which may have different dimensions.) If I had to guess however, yours looks like the Medium. It looks lovely on your arm.

TQ! I've always thought it's a small haha.

All of this. Totally agree! It’s like you read my mind and typed it all out in words I was too tired to come up with myself!

Also, I’m surprised by all the votes for the Tank Must. I actually went to the website to see stock images if maybe there was something I was missing from this post, but nope, still don’t understand it- if I’m being honest!
