Bottega Veneta Jodie Bag

Anyone know if they are phasing the Jodie out? I went to a boutique today and they didn't have a single Jodie on display... wonder if it's not "in" anymore.
Where it was an ‘it’ bag for a few years, it was always going to drop in popularity at some point; especially where there have been so many cheap dupes of it.

I feel like the more popular Bottega bag recently has been the Andiamo, but where the Jodie itself is a remake of a previous bestselling style there will probably always be a version of this in the range. There’s still new colours and fabrications on the Bottega website which wouldn’t be likely if they’d been working on phasing it out.

Where Louise Trotter has taken over I think the Jodie also lends itself well to her style so I’m intrigued to see what she does with the range.

I also feel we’ll see more of the larger sizes where totes and hobos are ‘back’, just a bit less of the mini size. Good quality and craftsmanship is never out of style though!

interesting? What makes you say it's not an "IT" bag? The teen, which is now the "new" small IMHO will be a classic. The mini is trendy and the now classic is trendy but the new small (teen) hits the sweet spot.

I know the Jodie may not be the IT bag anymore but I still really adore it
Just added the Teen size in Pinecone to my collection as I loved my black one so much

TY for this picture. A color "Pinecone" rarely shown on this forum and for me a treasure. Almost didn't go for it (was heavily leaning towards cypress) however a swab analysis in my wardrobe clearly pointed to Pinecone. What a fabulous gold, taupe brown!

Would love some honest opinions please. I tried the teen size Jodie (I believe now called small - the one up from the mini) yesterday. My husband thought it looked great on me, but I feel like it looks kinda huge. Not sure I can pull it off. Thoughts? I’m 5’1 and looking for an everyday light throw around bag. Also attached a pic trying on the Chanel coco small, which I adore but think maybe is too formal for everyday. Thanks in advance!

In a choice between the Jodie and the Wallace, both look great on you, it really comes down to how much you want to carry in the bag. I own both bags, and where the Wallace is a lunch or dinner with the girls type of bag for me, my Jodies and Hops (yes I own multiples of both) are workhorse dailies, and staples in my suitcase when I travel. I even have a medium Jodie as an airport bag.

Personally, I dislike the small Coco handle. I think it supremely impractical and rather boring.

I think the Jodie looks best on you and most practical. I've been contemplating a teen Jodie (in a different color) but nowhere to try on so glad to see it on someone my size lol The Wallace also looks nice, just a different vibe than the Jodie. I don't care for the Chanel. Let us know what you decide!

I love the teen on you!! Not too big seriously and I would tell you. For everyday it's sophisticated yet relaxed!!

Thank you, this is super helpful. Definitely looking for an everyday bag, even though I don’t carry much, it’s nice to have the option!

Thank you! There are so many gorgeous colors, I loved the fondant as well. I’m used to going for more smaller structured bags, but I think this could be great for everyday. Love how light it is too. Also, I don’t have any pics, but it did fit over the shoulder as well.

If you like it and think you will use it, go for it and don't overthink the size. I bought a hop in both small and large, realizing the large is ridiculously large, especially on a petite frame but I think I manage to pull it off (and if I don't, I really don't care bc I love the bag). I have other jumbo sized bags like LV On the go GM and YSL icare which is enormous, so much so that it sat in the bag for a good month or two before I even attempted to use and it became my most used bag. If you usually go for smaller and more structured, maybe try something different?
