Susan, I think 08 Marine is like Anthra in that some people see different undertones! :D Next time your Marine is in the bright sunshine take a good look and let me know if you see a hint of purple. It surprised me when I spotted it and made me love the color even more. In indirect or dim lighting it is truly a dark, dark blue.

Hey lady!

Nope, no purple, even in direct Cali sunlight! Just all true navy blue. Even had her out there with my outremer (which is definitely purple in tone blue) and still she shines true blue :D

WOW - I had no idea that '07 Marine was that much darker than '08 Marine.

I have an '08 Marine GGH City and it's pretty dark to me and the reason I've held off from searching for bleu roi...(although I would love a blue roi GSH Work :cloud9:).

I don't have blue roi but I can post pics of Officier and '08 marine (and throw in '06 INK) if needed.

I was able to see both offier and blue roi at a Bal boutique last week. Offier is definitely a lot darker and the purple undertone is very prominent when you put it next to to blue roi.

My Officier looks exactly like Missty's 07 Marine: so dark it is almost black, but it has such a great sense of life to it, because of being such a deep, midnight blue.

Bleu Roi is lighter than Officier - more like the sky on a full-moon lit night, if that makes any sense.

My Marine is almost the same depth as my Officier, but it has more purple undertones - like looking at a bottle of dark blue ink, whilst holding it up to the sun.

I have my eye on Bleu Roi.. it's the perfect blue I'm looking for! My main concern is that it has problems with fading? I'm not 100% sure because I read that somewhere. Can someone verify this information?

Magjes, can you kindly do a comparison shot of Officier and Ink? I have an Ink City but I've been wanting an Officier City for the longest time (I know you just got one; congratulations on that acquisition!). I'm afraid though that they are too similar (indistinguishable) since Ink is purple with blue undertones and Officier is navy blue with purple undertones. Thanks in advance!

I think Ink is ashier, muddier... Officier is like a clear dark blue with purple tones and much darker. I think they're quite different and IMO, Officier is a much prettier colour.
