I missed out on the last private sale by a few days because I didn't know about it and I'm bummed! Do you guys think there will be a sale in early June? I noticed that Bloomies used to do a private sale with $25 off $100 in past years but in 2013 they switched it up to another friends and family with 20% off your purchase....

I'm really hoping to get a deal on a purse soon so I'm hoping for one in a few weeks?

I think they are having $25 Off $100 deal now

I placed an order last Tuesday during the "private sale". I managed to get the $50 off and the extra loyalist points... I bought a couple of eileen fisher items with great discounts, filled out my order with socks and undies to each the $50 off and loyalist point threshold.

I am not a huge bloomingdales shopper; for me the appeal was no sales tax and a 10% cash back from my credit card company. I ended up ordering $837 retail full price for $203 (and I'll get $20.30 cash back and a $25 loyalist reward).

Anyway... I have a couple of questions that seasoned bloomingdales shoppers might be able to help me out with.

First of all, despite placing my order on Tuesday I didn't receive the "your order has shipped" email till Saturday and then the link has only told me that a label had been made. Seems strange that a week after ordering my package hasn't shipped. Is this normal?

Second what are the limits on the loyalist point rewards? I should have $75 worth (I also placed an Order during friends and family). Do I receive a physical reward certificate? Is there a time limit? Is there a good way to maximize them (as in can they be used during a friends and family)?

The rewards gift certificates do have an expiration date and although I can't recall now how long they last, I believe it is approximately 6 months. You can use the certificates with other promotions. For instance I had $250 in certificates and I used them on Friday for the private sale. My purchase qualified me for another $500 which I will receive in about 30 days. Despite using the certificates the full retail price of my item was counted (not the price after subtracting the certificates). So, in order to get the best bang for my buck, I usually use my certificates in conjunction with another Bloomies promotion.

In order to keep track of your points and certificates I would recommend making an account on Bloomingdales website and linking your loyalist account to it. This way you can keep track of the expiration dates and points overall.

Also you do not need the physical certificate to redeem the rewards. The sales associate can look up your rewards and apply them in one transaction.

Thank you! I have linked my account to my loyalist number. It is amazing that you got the points for the total purchase. I felt like I was getting such a good deal that there had to be a catch, I have had so many reward certificates (from other retailers) that have been practically useless thanks to limitations on what you can use them on time limits, minimum spends. Good to know that I have six months and can use it during a promotion!

I used my rewards during the last promotion, but I didn't get points on the dollar amount of the rewards. I did get them for the part that I paid for with my credit card though.

This is what happened to me as well. When I used my loyalist gift card from the Friends & Family sale a while ago, that amount was deducted from the total purchase price and I received loyalist points for the net amount.

Yeah, I noticed that everything was much slower this time around. I placed an order on Wed and didn't get my "your order has shipped" email til late Saturday night. My package finally moved on Mon afternoon and should be here a week from now (so long!). Hopefully you get yours soon too!

As an example can I pretend that during the next friends and family I buy a pair of shoes at $240...

Would I get 30% off and then the use the loyalist certificate?

Say $240 goes to a friends and family total of $168 and then minus $75 loyalist for a total of $93.

Thanks

Thanks! This morning I got notification that the package had moved. Part of me was worried that it was such a good deal that they would halt the shipping!

Yes, you can spend the loyalist rewards on discounted merchandise.
