I ordinarily don't like black diamonds but this is so beautiful in so many ways. Firstly, the design is exquisite and I love the contrast between the stones. Secondly, the fact that it's from your MIL. Everything about the ring shows she hold you in high regard. And lastly, the sentiment and impetus behind it. I was very touched by this post and so sad to hear your MIL will not be around for long. I wish you and your family the best of days ahead during the time you have left with her.
Thanks. Its upsetting that such a great person will not be in our lives for too much longer. I've never seen a black diamond in real life. She knew I wanted to eventually buy a 3 stone ring with a sapphire in the middle, diamonds on the side, but she looked for one around here and could not find one. She went ahead and chose this, based on what my e-ring looked like I think, and the fact that I love pear shaped diamonds. She told me I could exchange it, but I was instantly in love when I opened that little ring box. I love everything about it!

I've been married to her son for 22 years, she is like a mother to me (I haven't had one in decades). Since she is not well she wanted to leave me a keepsake. She paid as much for this ring as her son did for my first engagement ringShe tells me she thinks of me as her daughter, and she is a selfless person, who does so much for everyone she loves!
