So... This just happened! My birthday was Monday and my mother in law surprised me with this fabulous and unique black diamond halo ring. It sparkles like crazy and I love the contrast between the dark and clear diamonds !

I have to wait 2 weeks to get it back from being sized . It's new and will be passed along from generation to generation now. She likely won't be around next year at this time . I think she may have a few months left :(, and wanted to give me something to remember her by. I love what she picked out for me!

Your mother in law is so generous! When my MIL gave me a bracelet I felt so happy. It meant a lot to me because it means that she likes me enough to be a part of the family. Jewelry is always a nice welcome gift..

I've been married to her son for 22 years, she is like a mother to me (I haven't had one in decades). Since she is not well…she wanted to leave me a keepsake. She paid as much for this ring as her son did for my first engagement ring :nuts: She tells me she thinks of me as her daughter, and she is a selfless person, who does so much for everyone she loves!
