Birthday Pressies!
I ordered a few Prasiolite / Green Amethyst pieces from my jeweler a few days ago, I'm a February baby and that makes amethyst my birthstone, but I always find it hard to carry purple stones as they don't do much about my complexion. So instead I went for green! I was pleasantly surprised that I was at last able to wear amethyst without feeling self conscious about the color! Now I'm sticking to it!
I didn't know much about amethyst so I did a little search, it is a crystal, a quartz that is treated with heat to make it green. As all crystals and gems it has properties.
"Amethyst is a stone of strength, peace, pleasure, protection and spirituality. It purifies and is excellent crystal for meditation. It is known to balance the aura, sharpens the intellect and brings pleasure and truthfulness. It protects from excesses of any kind; it calms the restless temperament. Amethyst is known to protect from emotional and psychological manipulation, and if under the pillow during the night, it helps in reducing anger, impatience and nightmares."

Enough with talk , lets get on with the pics!
The ring, 2.2ct square amethyst center stone on WG, with (really low grade) diamond accents. I'm not happy with the diamonds, but this is to be expected when buying affordable jewelry.
And with the pendant that I LOVE! OMG this is going to be my new daily staple!Again set on WG, I think the amethyst is a little smaller, around 2ct. IDK. It is a square briolette cut. I think the color is better than the one on the ring. Maybe it is the cut that makes it look better.
The pendant doesn't have any accent stones, only metal wobbles to imitate accents.
Both a present from my grand mother who I adore. Right now she is down with a respiratory infection, please pray for her quick recovery!
Thank you for letting me share my birthday presents!
