Ladies,

Any gift ideas? She has a key pouch and borrows my pochette accessoires from time to time. I am looking for something that she could maybe use when she starts college in fall as well. I thought about a tote but dont think its too functional for her because its open and not secure. DOesnt necessarily have to be a big item but something special for her 18th birthday.

ETA: She will not carry leather (animal cruelty) and prefers canvas, she wont even touch my chanel pieces

So I decided instead of surprising her, we are going to take her to the store and let her pick something and have it heat stamped/personalized. I would still love to hear your recommendations

For her age (or any age, lol), I think the Speedy bandouliere 25 is adorable. You could also consider the Alma BB. She would get many years of use out of both of these. They would not be big enough to haul around a lot of stuff for college, but for that I would prefer a Longchamp Le Pliage or something similar that she wouldn't have to worry about throwing around :)

I feel like when I was 18 I would have really loved the pochette Metis. However there’s still a small leather tab on that one. I am not as much of an expert as others but there might be something completely leather free. A lanyard could be useful also, for the keypouch, ID or dorm keys. If she’s the agenda type that could be another option also.

I really don't understand the difference between a Chanel and a Pochette Accessoires. The amount of cow is a little less, I guess. But where is the line?

I wanted to recommend some accessory, like a scarf, but even silk harvesting is extremely cruel. Actually even worse than how cattle is treated.
Basically we only can choose if the harm is done before or after production. Anything that contains leather (or silk) causes suffering during production. Everything else causes (usually way more) suffering after the lifecycle of the product. Vuttion canvas is PVC, bonded with regular canvas (which means 0% chance of separating them for recycling), will end up as microplastic pollution. Most of the time the lining is synthetic (plastic pollition again), but even natural canvas production is very taxing on the environment. The luxurious microfiber lining is practically just microplastic, it will be a pollution nightmare in 20 years. This stands for the Prada and Burberry recycled canvases too. Reused now for PR, but they will end up in the ocean in a few decades anyway. Almost all 'ingredients' are cruel, either now or later. The all metal products seem like the most environmentally friendly to be honest.

If she is serious about this issue, I'd recommend to avoid the luxury industry altogether. If it just a good slogan, an not that important, then it can be anything from a crocodile Alma to a canvas Speedy. It's up to her.

When I was in college I received a LV agenda in the MM size. I found that I never really used my LV purses as I was always carrying some assortment of books/laptop etc so I usually just used a longchamp bag.
