Birthday cuff from Tiffany! Cartier LOVE alternative.

I've been debating for months whether or not to splurge on a Cartier JUC / a LOVE bracelet. I love the uniqueness / unconventionality of the JUC, but love the quasi-permanence of the LOVE bracelet.

HOWEVER, as a graduate student with plenty on his plate at the moment, I realized I should be patient (or rather, impatiently patient).😉

THEN! After a visit to Hermes on Wall Street, I popped into Tiffany to browse, and instantly fell in love with the following Atlas cuff (my Cartier "thirst" has since been quenched) and the best thing! It worked out to be an incredibly generous birthday present from my mother and grandmother. 👍👏

This was actually for the best, because after giving things some thought, my BF (of seven years) and I decided that instead of an engagement ring, I want an engraved LOVE bracelet (he keeps the screwdriver &#128541. He stills wants a more traditional ring. Soon! 😁

In any case! Here's my new, beloved Atlas Bracelet.

At thought on which metal I should get my LOVE in? I originally wanted it in WG, but am now leaning towards RG.

I know what you mean with it quenched your thirst for a JUC. I had the same with the Tiffany T a few weeks back. Still the JUC will hopefully be on my wrist one day.

I love RG, but on a guy I like silver/WG better, I also think it works better with your Atlas cuff, although RG certainly looks nice with it, too.

Thank you! I think there's something more romantic about the RG, and think it compliments my skin-tone well. I do love the more industrial look of the WG + also like the fact that it can be rhodium plated to keep it nice and shiny. There's time to decide. 😉

Congrats on your T!!! I was offered one the day they were released, and turned it down because I hadn't heard anything about the collection / seen them yet! I regretted it two weeks later when it became all the rage. Haha. The manager mentioned that they're releasing the T bracelet in black titanium next year.

I would totally go for a WG love, as I wear myself, but that is my personal preference, because you can wear it with everything.


Give it a good thought: what would you love, yes pun intended, to wear everyday that fits best with your outfits, a RG or WG? Good luck with your choice, but first enjoy your Atlas, it's a classic!

I do know that the RG LOVES tend to look more like YG once they start to get worn - and I'm not a big fan of YG for me. Oh well. I'll let the BF decide and I'll be happy any way. Maybe he'd be amenable to a WG with diamonds. That would be a no-brainer in my book.😜

THAT BEING SAID - and maybe it's time to start a new thread ... This is going to be a very, very important bracelet (basically my engagement ring) ... I'm not sure I'd feel safe with the new screw system, BUT, that being said, I'm not sure I want a LOVE bracelet someone else has worn. I'm not a very spiritual person, but ... I don't want no bad juju. 👹 I don't want a bracelet someone sold because of a divorce, or because of hard-times. I've been on that end of ship, and don't want the negative energy associated with parting with such a valuable item having anything to do with an item that is meant to represent my eternal LOVE with my DBF.

Like totally: the WG with diamonds, totalling fanboying . Though I must say it is a really romantic idea to let your BF decide, but, yeah, a little bit of loving persuasion towards the WG with diamonds... never a bad idea .

I can totally relate to this, this is something very important between the two of you. Somehow, wearing something that has already been worn by someone else... It would feel tainted somehow, but I would not say 'no' to a preloved WG with diamonds in any other case than engagement or marriage, haha. To you it will be one of the milestones in your life together, so your bracelet should be fresh and new! I am sure when you both follow your hearts and souls, you will make the right choice!
