Big watches

I just got a Rolex Milgauss like this one, though mine has a white face. It's 40mm, and on my wrist, it fits perfectly! I agree with MissusB--it's a lot easier to see the time with a larger watch, and according to a jeweler I talked to yesterday, these big watches are very popular.

-Royal, you got the white dial, am I right? I can't wear mine out and about yet because it hasn't listed yet as on my Insurance policy, even though I sent them the appraisal! I plan to check and complain soon if I don't see it!

I love that green crystal, but it's not in the budget right now.

I hear ya, MissusB! (I'm 52) I can hardly read the dial of a ladies Rolex MUCH LESS the date! My Midsize even has to be in bright light LOL! I don't care about in style, out of style, it's what I like. Men's watches all the way!

The only exceptions is I have a womens movado with black dial and gold hands, and a Baume and Mercier with black dial and silver hands. I can read them, and since they are small, I wear them on the few dressy occasions I attend, where even a Midsize might be too chunky.

Younger women, don't worry! If you love it, wear it! Insecure admirers will be impressed at your individual stylish confidence! Really!

I'm 43,and just love the size of the gents watches and for me too,I don't so much care about the in/out style that comes and goes,I just love the look, and totally agree if you love it,wear it!!

wear what you like but as with everything proportion is key. and by that i do not mean you or the wrists but the watch itself. there are beatuiful large watches and somes that just look off kwim (same goes for smaller ones as well)

personally i prefer ladies or midsize models (but hate the 26mm rolex models they are to thick to be that small again proportion i find them very nice in 29 up to 35 though)

sorry, bumping this thread because I just bought a Michael Kors Runway ceramic watch and its 43mm. I didn't know when I bought it that it was the LARGE size. How much of a difference does 3mm make? I don't recall seeing the smaller size at the store, I just noticed it online after I bought my watch.

I'm concerned that it's too big now, especially because my wrist i small. I had to get 5 links taken out. I feel like 3mm would still be fairly large so I don't want to go through all the trouble of returning it and getting it adjusted again if they're basically the same size. Please help! :)
