Longchamp, Lumi Accessories, Adax Copenhagen, Liebeskind and Tiger of Sweden come to mind. These are brands (not counting Liebeskind, still waiting to get my hands on one but my friends have their bags) which have supplied me with great quality at reasonable prices. They also stand behind their products and especially Lumi is very flexible and friendly when it comes to taking care of their customers.

Longchamp has some bags within that price range. The quality is superior to most other brands AND they offer after care & repairs same as as Hermes without the attitude. I love them.

I agree with the Furla and Cole Haan. My mom seems to like her Kate Spade bags a lot. I don't have any but she enjoys hers and they've been holding up very well.

Check out Bric´s, too: timeless & classic, well-made, sturdy, very functional everyday workhorse bags and luggage, too. Canvas, nylon, and suede in lovely neutrals like dark blue, camel, olive or chocolate. I think Missoni also did a few of their pieces with his characteristic zigzag design...

I haven't made my first designer purchase yet, but I've been looking at Coach, Michael Kors and Kate Spade. I'm not very knowledgeable, so I love seeing these designers I'm not familiar with. I will have to check them out.

Mz Wallace, Dooney & Bourke, Longchamp, and Cole Haan to name a few. Good luck! Are you looking for something specific or just would like to keep you eyes open for this price range?
