Best mini bag for a vacation?

I too had a similar dilemma and finally ended up with an LV pochette (vintage print limited edition) with a long strap for a crossbody option. I like how flat it is so you can tuck it into a larger bag if needed. And it can go from day to night depending on strap length.

Other contenders were BV pillow (a smaller vintage version), vintage Brahmin leather crossbody, Balenciaga hip arena crossbody and Hermes mini rodeo. Most of these can be found for <500 pre-loved (slightly more for the Hermes, significantly less for the Brahmin) which was an added bonus!

Great suggestions! Thank you. I saw another TPF member do something similar & I like the idea!

Thanks for the Epi recommendations. Sounds like the best direction for that bag and I'd love it in fuchsia!

I think I'm leaning towards this bag and the Dior promenade. I'm really wanting silver hardware after looking & considering, and these have good color selections and the silver hardware! Love the Furla but too small for what I need traveling and love the Gucci disco but for the gold/brass hardware. But it's on my list for someday!

I haven't seen it IRL but I think the Givenchy micro Lucrezia is adorable, and it looks like a tough bag. I think toughness is really important for a travel bag, and not that easy to find in mini bags. I love my Celine trio but am afraid to take it on trips because it seems so delicate, ditto my Nina Ricci mini Marche (with suede sides, egads!). I recently decided on this Ralph Lauren small Ricky tote -- http://www.lyst.com/bags/ralph-lauren-collection-small-ricky-tote-bordeaux/ -- for travel and am happy with my choice, but I know it is larger than what you are looking for. The open top also isn't ideal, but my love of the design and quality, coupled with a great deal won me over :). It is pebbled leather, which I've found to be tough, lightweight, and crossbody with top handles, all of which I really like.

P.S. I love this thread. There are a number that offer the practical advice to choose something inexpensive and indestructible like Kipling or Longchamp for travel, but I've tried that and just end up unhappy with my bag choice.

Definitely Gucci Disco! Very comfortable to carry, lightweight and zipper top to keep everything secure inside. And, great price point as well. My favorite travel bag by a landslide!

I second this. Another Gucci Disco fan here. Just used mine for a weekend trip to Legoland with the family. Fits my long slim wallet, cardholder, sunnies inside a cloth pouch, hand sanitizer, lipstick, oil blotting paper, thin pack of tissues and my iphone 6plus. Push comes to shove, my DH will ask me to put his glasses and keys inside. He calls it my magic bag, hahaha.
