Best heat protectants?

All great suggestions above. I like K18 oil best then Oribe. but Milton, kerastase, and davines are all great too. Olaplex #9 is good too. Depends what you prefer (oil cream or gel) and how damaged your hair is. I think k18 or olaplex is amazing on processed hair

Living Proof Perfect hair Day Heat protecting spray. Silicone-free if that's a concern.
For point of reference: I go from curly to straight every other day and my stylist says I have surprisingly minimal damage.

I had straight hair as a child (but wanted curly/wavy). Then when I was about 11 it turned curly and I hated it!

It’s very important yo use 2 kinds of heat protectants if you’re flat ironing your hair. The first one depends on your hair type (a leave in conditioner if it’s fine or oil/balm if it’s thicker). That one is for when you blow dry or rough dry your hair. Then before flat ironing you have to use another one that doesn’t leave your hair wet. You should not flat iron wet/damp hair. Maybe that’s what’s happening to your hair? I use a spray that doesn’t wet it or leave it greasy.
My go to’s are from alfaparf style stories and they work great for me but the smell is strong.
I’ve also used Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day blow dry cream and it’s great. That line has a spray heat protectant too. The smell is not as strong as Alfaparf.
