Best heat protectants?

It’s very important yo use 2 kinds of heat protectants if you’re flat ironing your hair. The first one depends on your hair type (a leave in conditioner if it’s fine or oil/balm if it’s thicker). That one is for when you blow dry or rough dry your hair. Then before flat ironing you have to use another one that doesn’t leave your hair wet. You should not flat iron wet/damp hair. Maybe that’s what’s happening to your hair? I use a spray that doesn’t wet it or leave it greasy.
My go to’s are from alfaparf style stories and they work great for me but the smell is strong.
I’ve also used Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day blow dry cream and it’s great. That line has a spray heat protectant too. The smell is not as strong as Alfaparf.
