Best heat protectants?

Hi Everyone! I’d love to hear your recommendations for really effective heat protectants to use on hair that’s been dried, right before using a flat iron or curling iron.

I’ve been using Bumble and Bumble Heat Shield, but my hair has gotten really dry over time and I have a lot of breakage. I only flat iron twice per week and don’t use super high heat, so I’m wondering if this product just isn’t working well enough for me.

I’d prefer something mildly scented as well, which I know rules out a lot of the products in this category. I appreciate your recommendations if you have any!

I use one (Kerastase cream) with my leave in conditioner on my wet hair, then again if/when I curl my hair. I like Moroccanoil (I don't care for the brand in general, but I do also love their dry shampoo) and IGK Good behavior sprays.

I was recommended Milbon by my hair stylist and my hair is very sensitive since I do Japanese straightening regularly. I think it works well and I like that the formula is lightweight, no grease at all.

Before blow drying my hair I use Olaplex No. 7. It leaves my hair very silky with a subtle shine. It has a light pleasant scent.

Before using any curling irons/wands I put on CHI Silk Infusion. I love the fragrance too! I can't really describe it but it has warmth to it and I always gets a lot of compliments on how nice my hair smells.

Honorable mention: Crown Affair. A lightweight leave-in conditioner that I rub and brush into my hair after towel drying. This is when I'm lazy and I don't even bother to blow dry. Just let it air dry. The smell reminds me of Dolce Gabanna Light Blue.

Beautiful hair!! I also have very wavy hair and take it to straight twice per week. Does the Living Proof have a strong scent, and does it linger? I sadly can’t use their dry shampoo because it’s too strongly scented for me (I am prone to migraines). Thanks!

Thank you! Scent is minimal & doesn’t last imo. (I get migraines too so I’m very scent-aware).
