I love the Longchamp Roseau previously mentioned, and the Prada Double-Zip is becoming a popular classic, but I don't know if the prada logo is too flashy. It's up for debate, but I don't like to show designer labels for interviews (anything above Coach seems too eye-catching), and for work, it really depends on the culture. I personally would not feel comfortable being the only one wearing an obvious designer brand to work, and prefer more under-the-radar look if bringing in expensive bags. I like Tod's and Mulberry Bayswater too. Anything with structure, can carry files and a laptop (if you need it), and nice quality leather are good choices. If you are willing to go quite casual and lightweight (everyday work bag), the black longchamp le planetes is a step above the colorful foldable version.

You are so right about flashy logos. Unless the interview or other meeting is for/with someone/company that has something to do with design houses, accessories or branding.
The Longchamp Roseau is a very safe choice; the logo is very very subtle, so not everyone will pick up on that in the first place. As for those who do...ones who don't know much about bags will most likely think nylon bags -> affordable chic and f.e. Roseau will get away with the same image. Those who do know their brands will know to appreciate your shopping savvy and taste for great quality, reasonably priced items. Win-win.

Oh! I saw this new Longchamp (I assume Roseau) at Nordstrom today and the material is gorgeous. It's over $600 and won't fit a laptop, very nice looking that I almost considered it (I don't need one so held back). I thought of this thread, and snapped a pic.

That's the Honore 404, and it would make a lovely work bag!
I think it would be too heavy if there's a netbook in it. The leather is pretty heavy.
