Best Colors for an everyday bag (City)?

Hi everybody

I am new to BBags and am going to buy my first one.

Since I am going to use the City as an everyday bag, I don't want to get some colors that will get dirty easily. I love the Skyblue and BG very much. However, I think maybe they are not good for an everyday bag.

So, I am considering Electric Blue, Black, Cinnamon/Sienna. What other colors would you recommend for an everyday bag?

Black is such a Balenciaga staple :yes: So I would totally recommend that.

But if you want a pop of color go for the Sienna, it's totally beautiful and a perfect neutral :love:

Hi there & welcome to tpf! I think that you should get the sky blue because you said you love it very much. And if you love a bag, there's a high chance you'll carry it often. Plus, I think the sky blue is a versatile enough color to go with most clothes and it'll definitely be gorgeous now that spring and summer are coming! Good luck with your decision!

Cinnamon (mogano) is a dark brown with reddish undertones, Sienna is more of a dark tan colour, lighter than cinnamon. If you have a look in the reference section under the brown colour thread you'll find pictures.

Your choice depends entirely on your wardrobe. I would probably get black as my first but if you wear lots of colours that go with brown, go for that! Or, if you already have plenty of black and brown bags you like using, then go for blue!

I'm not much help. Sorry. Unless I was totally crazy about a colour I would probably pick a neutral for a bag that I wanted to use every day. My first city was plomb and I love it.

I agree with HMWE that black is like bal's staple, so if you want a bag for everyday use, every occation--I vote for black. HOWEVER, if you're looking for a pop of color in your outfit but still a great bag that wont get dirty, I vote Electric Blue. I got mine and I'm IN LOVE with the color. Mine is on the darker side and very saturated and yummy, so maybe you should look for a dark electric blue! HTH! Welcome to tPF!

Depends what you wear. if you're a jeans kinda gal, sky blue will look gorgeous! Actually, I agree with dukechickie... sky blue will look pretty great with most things.

If you're not too sure about it, black and sienna are both really great options! You can never go wrong with a black bag, but if you're wanting that little extra colour sienna is GORGEOUS. I have a sienna twiggy, and it always amazes me how varied the colour is depending on what I wear and what the weather is like.

I vote for black or cinnamon. I have owned LOTS of Bal colors and always come back to/love my black most! You don't have to worry about stains/darkened handles and if the corners scuff they are much easier to repair/hide in a black bag.

I'd say go with black or electric blue. The black is a staple- you will always be able to wear it. However, I love love love my electric blue. The color is surprisingly versatile. Something about the leather that Bal uses makes the colors amazing. I actually don't have a black bbag, I only have colors. You can get a black bag anywhere, but a balenciaga color......

Sienna! I have both a black city and a sienna city and I use my sienna way more. The color is really gorgeous and it's also really versatile because it looks good with black or with brown :yes:
