Best color for first Birkin

Late to the party but going to chime in here! I think both noir and etain would be fabulous first B colors. Classic, timeless, and easy to match. Anndddd if we're talking about hardware, my vote is for GHW, . If neither of those colors are truly singing to you, I'd say gold leather (haven't had an issue with color transfer but perhaps other folx have experienced color transfer)! Out of all of my neutral birkins (noir, gold, craie), I used gold and craie the most.

My first Birkin was a B30 Noir in Ostrich w/ rose gold hardware… It is stunning! I vote noir for sure!

It depends on if you are getting more than one Birkin. Personally if I know this will be my one and only I would pick either etoupe or Etain because these colors don’t feel too heavy during summer and look amazing with winter outfits. But I agree with others black is classic I love mine.

I have a garden party in vert amande and have not experienced any color transfer. As far as which color to choose for your first B, what color bag in your current collection do you find yourself reaching for the most? I think that should give you the best insight as to which you should go with. With the price of a birkin you have to be certain it's one that you will love and cherish!

I used to have a lot more bags in my collection but they were all black. I only have 1 bag now that's also in black and I feel like since I don't have a huge collection, black makes sense but I feel like any neutral color would work since I do wear a lot of black/ neutral clothing

Color preference is subjective and you have some wonderful opinions offered by fellow forum members. If I had all the funds to spare on only B’s I’d get each of the choices already presented here.

And now to my subjective observation: I prefer noir with palladium hardware. Sure, in the summer it can make you perspire just looking at that saturated dark color undulate in the heat, but you can always pair the bag with a fun bright Twilly or charm. I have a 25, so the color doesn’t overwhelm since the bag is smaller.

If I had to choose numbers 2 and 3, etain and bleu nuit would be on the list. My other favorite neutrals, etoupe and gold, I like only for Ks.

Etain - the one that got away last year because I chose Noir. But if I were to consider another B25, this one would be it.

If you wear a lot of black then definitely etain! Etain will easily help transition from winter to spring the way noir just is not able to

I have a Vert amande kelly and don’t have any problem with colour transfer. It is not that light but amazingly works in both summer and winter time.

As for first birkin, I vote for blue nuit! I think it is such a gorgeous and sophisticated colour! It goes well with black outfit and it is more interesting than noir (IMHO).

Hi everyone! I'm looking to get my first Birkin this year and wanted to compile a list of colors that I would want for the bag. I wear a lot of black so I'm not super worried about the color not going with my outfits but I want something neutral and a color that I wouldn't need to worry about getting stained from color transfer. These are some of the colors I had in mind (in togo leather) but if you have any suggestions please let me know!

Congrats on your first baby B! My first B was a B35 etain phw (the big bags are best era).
If you're going with a B30 I would go with black both ghw/phw are beautiful. If you're aiming for a smaller B25 definitely etain (ghw/rghw) or bleu nuit (ghw).

I'd go with a pop of color for my first (perhaps because I did) and I too wear mostly black, cream or navy. Bleu nuit is a fave neutral however.

If the place where you live is with long hot summer, I vote for Etain/blue Nuit.
Black is good if you have 4 season weather or short summer.
Ebene/Chocolate is an autumn colour or if wear lots of cream/beige/taupe outfit.
