BE's cervo lux vs Prada's

All of my Deerskin Pradas stated Deerskin on the leather hangtag that came on the bag. I am under the impression that the word "Antik" refers to deerskin. The word "Lux" would refer to the sparkly finish given to the Prada bags. I will be the first to say that the finish on the Chain Totes wears fast on corners and areas where alot of rubbing occur so I tend to baby them. I have a Prada Ombre Degrade bag that is a totally different animal.

I am intrigues by BE's Cervo Lux bags but I only prefer the Hug Me's right now and I have a Black Crash one which is beautiful. I can't justify the same styles in different colors/leathers right now.

Ooh, love your Pradas, Lexie!! Lionlaw has some Prada cervo bags (and maybe she'll chime in on that), and I've seen her state that the way we describe the BE cervo isn't what she thought about the Prada at all, so perhaps there is a difference between the feel adn wear of calf "cervo" versus Prada deerskin cervo.

Cervo is italian for deer. Prada uses cervo to refer to its deerskin bags. Antik refers to the shading that Prada uses on its antik cervo bags. Given the treatment, Prada's antik cervo bags are prone to scratching fairly easy. They are a soft leather.

Pradas cervo luxe bags have the "luxe" treatment which makes the leather shinny/glittery.

This is my caffe tote- the antik treatment is the darker shading you see.

This is antik cervo in cacao (lighter and even more prone to scratches):

This is the natural cervo color: No shading and not as easily scratched, but prone to fading or discoloration.

From looks, I would say the BE "cervo" (although if it is cow, it is incorrect to call it cervo), looks most like Pradas regular cervo and not the antik bags:
