Ok....don't be jealous, ladies...I'm lucky enough to live within driving distance of this beautiful shop....well, 3 hours...but I wanted to escape for another hiking trip before the school year starts....

Picked out this gorgeous olive large pouch with adjustable strap (can be shoulder length, crossbody, etc)...and couldn't resist this insanely beautiful, HANDMADE IN THE SHOP check book. We're talking seriously incredible handcrafted work, people!!! Mike showed me the tools that he uses for the checkbook designs and his belts.....and I got my husband a cool leather cuff in black, also handtooled.

I love this place! Seriously, I cannot get enough. Mike and Rene were off today but popped in briefly to say hi as they were passing by on their way to TEACH A TAI CHI class. You read that right. They TEACH TAI CHI. What else does this incredible couple do?!!!! They simply rock.

Ok. I'll let you drool over the pics. If you're new to this thread, check out the "Made in America" thread on this general Handbag forum. If you live in America, Buy American, folks!!!! :) :) :)

Such beautiful handwork. I can't say enough how much I appreciate that these bags are made to order and not mass produced. I think that every member on this forum should check this wonderful place out, especially if they want quality in workmanship, truly wonderful leather, hardware that doesn't scream at you and overpower the bag, and not be a walking billboard for some designer charges you for the opportunity to advertise for them for nothing. CC....you are lucky. I would be there in that shop every day just to smell the fumes. Red bag being ordered today.

I am lucky! :) Believe me, I know it. And I do stop in the doorway before entering and just take in the beautiful smell of LEATHER!!!!!! :)

Glad you're ordering the garnet bag! :) I want a Chatham bag like yours, only I need to decide on a color, now that I bought an olive large pouch!

Hey, CoachCruiser! I know you were wondering in the Made in America subforum which other color you would like, and I think that either the burgundy or brandy would be really pretty. I must like alcohol. I have a great Kooba in sort of the brandy color, and I think that color goes with just about everything.

Lol...just saw your post, Compass Rose...I'll think about the brandy and check it out online. :) Make sure to do a reveal when you get your Chatham in the mail! The garnet leather is beautiful.

I just got this really gorgeous leather bag in the mail today. It is just as perfect as the purple one, and, once again, it came with a surprise cute snap pouch for business cards. And, I agree that the garnet leather is really soft, beautiful, and the color is saturated. It still amazes me that this cute wonderful shop can hand craft these wonderful sturdy bags with brass hardware (and not some cheap base metal) for the price point. Actually, my only other leather bag with a leather interior is a Bottega and that was a $2000 bag. More people should check this business out. Hope they are doing well.

I will post a picture, but it will be later on, as we are getting ready for a trip and company, and things are really hectic around here.

I keep saying "one last trip" -- this really will be my last trip up for awhile, unless I get a rare opportunity in the early fall to escape to NH....Had to get a Chatham bag yesterday and I was in the mood for glossy black leather. :) We want to go back again today!!!

Interestingly enough, when most of you were in diapers, Coach bags first came out with natural leather and no lining whatsoever. I happened to get one and liked it a whole lot until the little leather bits and pieces came off on everything inside. Those were great bags anyway. They had about 3 styles to choose from and about three colors. The leather inside Beggar's Pouch bags is a whole lot nicer than the Coach bags of yesteryear.

hi compass!
just was trying to get some feedback on the bag and how it's wearing...I'm getting one on October 9th and would love to hear how it's working out now that you've owned it for a while...how many do you have, which do you love the most and what colors?
thanks!!!
